You might want to go to this website: stat.gov.pl

Check out page 175 of the document to get an idea on wages. On average, Polish professionals have a gross wage of 3180 PLN per month. However, if you separate how much professional men and women earn then you will get: 3751 PLN for men and 2862 PLN for women.

This does not necessarily answer your question, but it should give you an idea on wages in general.

Hello all,

Just a general comment about wages. Like mentioned here before, naturally salaries must be offered in relation to local living costs. Why to hire someone with UK salaries in country where living costs are so different. Of course if you have skills that cannot be found locally, but Krakow for example has a lot of talented highly educated people, also with different language skills. Im sure starting 2500zl per month gives you a very good standard of living. If you are paying your mortgage each month to UK obviously its not good idea to do from Poland, however economy is growing rapidly so soon might be even possible.

I will be relocating in Krakov soon for a year, manager position. This will be the first time I will be relocating, can someone let me know what are the standars benefits that companies gives to expats? This will help me negotiate a decent deal. Thanks!

Hi Solalice,
based on my personnel experience as an Expat in WAW in a manager position, your Expat contract should include the following concepts:
Your current base salary, (the same as before relocation or higher if relocation implies promotion). Important to highlight that normally Expat contracts are always negotiated on net basis (net salary), due to different tax systems country of origin and destination. On top of the NET base salary:

Expat bonus: relocation between countries within EU: +10-15% on NET base salary; relocation between EU and non-EU countries +20-25% on NET base salary.
Cost of living adjustments: calculation done normally by an external consulting company, which is measuring cost of living index origin, compared with cost of living index destination (food, transport, rents,..).

Income tax compensation: Comparing income tax to be paid in origin and to be paid at destination to ensure the negotiated NET base salary.
Reimbursement of costs for moving your stuff to Poland.
Private medical insurance for you and your familiy.
Private school for your children if applicable.
Fly backs, at least two a year.
Flat/house paid by your company.
Company car.
Polish language classes.

But all of the above, depends:
1.) Kind of position (for a manager position as you mention should be applicable).
2.) Your country of origin
3.) Age and experience
4.) The most important, your negotiation skills.
In any case, and as it is the first relocation for you, don't be too demanding. Your company is investing in you for the future and this is a great opportunity for you not only from a business point of view, but for you personally too (new culture, language,..).

Hope I could help you a little bit.
Cheers

Hi to all!

I have finished faculty of Economics and I have singed Master studies (I will finished it for cca 6 monts). I am thinking to move to work anywhere else then in my country (I am living in Montenegro, ex Yugoslavia) because of very bad possibilities to work and live. I have 3 years of working experience (in commercial department) and I am speaking English and Italian language, but I have 400 euro/month salary so you can see why I want to move somewhere else.

I have applied on open job position in Krakow for Junior Accountant who will have this responsibilities: 1) daily contact with international clients (helpdesk), 2) great scope of operations according to the specific needs: ledger, account receivable liabilities, liquid assets, 3) making reports for clients and for internal usage, 4) effective cooperation with colleagues in order to achieve the team goals, 5) meeting the project requirements.

For this job they are asking to be: 1) fluent knowledge of Serbian language, (my Serbian is Native) 2) very good command of English, (my English is advanced) 3) client focus attitude, 4) experience in customer service will be an advantage, 5) very good computer skills (MS Office, Excel). (my PC skills are on advanced level)

How much money to ask? ANY HELP?
