Purchasing or Buying Jobs in Poland, advice needed from others in food industry

Hello All,

I want to move to poland as soon as possible and was wondering if any one can give me some advice on the work scene.

I am a Purchasing Manager for a ready meal manufacturer and would love to stay in the same industry.
I am also an experienced production planner.
My polish is quite basic with around 500-600 words and the conversations are quite broken.
Would this be a big issue as I think I would pick the language up quite quickly.
Would it be best to locate to the Poznan area or Krakow.

I really would like some advice from anyone who is in the food industry.

I was a trade buyer in the Wholesale grocery/FMCG sector in Ireland. I arrived here last Feb and no sign of a job. Pretty much given up. I'm confident I could get a job if I had Polish but the language is crucial. What you have will get you nowhere here and they won't hire you assuming your Polish will get better. There are quiet a few food companies here so no doubt your skills could be used, but I'd work on the language harder before coming. There is a huge pool of 20/30 somethings here with fluent English and that's what you're up against.
