I need a suit, or so says my wife. To make things easy on myself, where in Chicago is a nice store where I can deal with Polish speaking salespeople and purchase a nice suit?

I think you'll have to check the Milwaukee/Belmot area. But it seems there are not many Polish stores that sell suits only (Polish foods/video stores is another story :). Maybe try Kohler or another big store..

Why do they have to speak Polish???

Are you looking for a special Polish suit??
you might look silly walking around in Chicago wearing one.

Whats wrong with going to a regular store, Kohls, Syms, Menswearhouse????

My wife speaks Polish much better than she speaks English. She insists I need a new suit for our Green Card interview on Thursday. I don't want to argue with her. She's nervous enough. But I digress. I would like to walk into a store with her, where she can comfortably engage in conversation with a salesperson, discuss price, etc., and find me something that will put her mind at ease. Personally, I think my old suit is fine, and I'm certainly capable of buying my own suit.

Regionpolski, it looks like she tells you what to wear..lol...
Nothing wrong with her advising you but after all, you're the one who needs to feel good in your suit. What's there to discuss in Polish or English? All you need is the right fit, fabric, price and discussing them in polish is not going to change anything. Besides, an interview for a green card is not exactly a party. People don't get green cards because of the sharp outfit they have on :)

You may try to go to "Syrena" to make her her happy.

Eurola, one point....

Yes, regionpolski must be happy with his new suit, but regionpolski must also make sure his wife is happy with the suit, or else his wife will not be happy with him. Nothing wrong with taking his wife's "advice".... A happy wife is a happy regionpolski....

It sounds like she's probably just trying to do everything she can to make it work. It must be hard not having control of your own fate. Good luck with the interview!

It now turns out the old suit is good enough. I'm just trying my best to put her at ease.

That's the type of info I was looking for. I will certainly keep it in mind should the situation ever arise again.
