Health Care - from Poland to USA

Hi!
I am a student studying nursing in the United States. I am doing a project on Cultural Competency. I was hoping some of you could help me out with this. If you were to come to the US from Poland and needed health care, is there anything you would expect/want/need/fear/believe?

Please let me know - so, i can help future nurses be more culturally aware.
Thank you

Sure, I would expect that all people have free access (or for a small fee) to health insurance like it's now in Poland. The quality of (free) Polish healthcare is much lower than the American one, but it's -- free. In the US I think only half of its citizens actually have a full heath insurance. Also, Polish-speaking nurses would be a great plus - not only Polish people like their doctors to talk in their native language.

I'm not sure that this is correct information for full time residence who have never worked in poland.

Lef, As long as you have residancy in Poland you are able to get all the health care a polish citizen does, it does not matter if you work or not.
