WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. federal agents have been given new powers to seize travelers' laptops and other electronic devices at the border and hold them for unspecified periods.

Under recently disclosed Department of Homeland Security policies, such seizures may be carried out without suspicion of wrongdoing, the newspaper said, quoting policies issued on July 16 by two DHS agencies.

So they terrorize the whole society (including foreign travelers) just in the hopes one imaginary terrorist is stupid enough to fly with a laptop with a map to Bin Laden? What are the odds, one in 10 billions?

I'm off to florida next year and I'll make sure there are no computers or laptops on holiday. Internet Cafe is a no-no. Laptop is a no-no. I can't stand people that spend 24/7 on a friggin computer...!

I don't NEED to bring my laptop knobsacks. My computer/laptop is for leisure purposes ONLY not for businesses. The laptop stays at HOME. People that spend 24/7 chatting in chatrooms/forums are just SAD.

he, he......

On the serious note. It is a crazy idea since so many people depend on them. I am not making a living on mine but conduct a lot of activities using my laptop, so....it is like taking away my cell.
