Moving out - question to peeps from LA

Howdy,

Do you guys know any reliable source of housing/renting offers I could turn to?

I want to move out from my currrent apt, change the environment as well as many other things. I started looking for offers on Craig's List, but so far the only responses I got were the freaking scam ones ('Yeah, house is yours, pay me over Western Union cuz I moved out to Africa' and bullsh!t like that)

I don't need to move out NOW, but slowly wanted to browse some reliable and serious offers.

Can anybody help?
Thanks!

Greg

Why's that?
Where do you want to move?
As soon as I can, I'm moving to Colorado.
Love the mountains, need to get away from people can't trust.

Are you looking for an apartment or a house?

Have you tried Realtor.com and Yahoo Real Estate for house rentals?

How about Move.com and ApartmentGuide.com for apartments?

ApartmentRatings.com is also good.

Why's that?

I need a change. First four years of this millennium I lived on three different continents. The next four years I lived in Cali, I need SOMETHING that is different.

Plus the new neighbour from downstairs is a socio who considers a yawn to be a very loud express of rudeness and hammers my floor to let me know about it.

The socio just made my decision of moving out easier.
Actually, a friend of mine has been talking me into moving to Denver :)), can't lie, it does look promising :)

Go for it! You'll love it!
The weather is great, winters not that cold. Lived there for 2 years and go back almost every year.

Indeed it is.

Actually I wouldn't mind moving to some cooler place - California is way too hot for me. I just got in to my office, taking subway, a walk to the station and walk from the station - I am soaking wet.

Not good.

Lets all move to Denver! lol

Krysia, you already lived there, so why don't you move first and do a little bit of reconnaissance for the rest of us who wanna move there, too? Hmmm? How 'bout that?

In most Real Estate offices there are these thick booklets that have listings of most apartments in the city organized by neighborhood. I recently looked at moving ( I stayed in my apartment, though, I should say for full disclosure) but these booklets were invaluable in terms of having all the right information in one place. Plus, they aren't scams. I can't remember the name of the booklet but they pretty much available at most real estate offices. Good luck, it's hell looking for apartments in theis town.

Doesn't it get hotter in Denver? I read somewhere that their heat waves and smog have gotten worse than Los Angeles.

Colorado Springs is cooler in the summer and it doesn't snow as much during the winter.

I am soaking wet.

well at least you don't have to go to sea world and spend money to get splashed by Shamoo.

to get splashed by Shamoo

I'd rather. Came back home an hour ago, started a/c immediately, I am still soaking wet - sooo uncofortable. Waiting a little bit to cool off, then cold shower..... ahhhhh :)

Roomatefinder.com is good if you are looking for a share

Westsiderentals.com has some decent spots and no spam but it costs money to join. Many people rave about it. I thought it was ok.
