I know of a great store in Hamtramck, MI (near Detroit) called the Polish Art Center that has a web site, my family has been shopping there for years, I send my family gifts from there store all the time. I heard that a lot of the Amber sold in tourist areas of Poland is fake so be careful.

I was looking for an Eagle for my chain for the longest time. Thought I would need to wait till I went to PL but they had at Polart.

does anyone know how to tell the difference between real and fake amber?

Yes. You can tear a small corner of notebook paper the size of this () and rub the Amber ona cotton shirt ( to cause friction) if it picks up the paper it's real. Glass will not pick it up :) Hope that helps.

If you are in New York City go to Grenpoint, Brooklyn. It is the Polish neighborhood. Manhattan avenue. If in Long Island there is a Polish Town in Riverhead. There is a Polish Festival there August 16 & 17th. Lots of fun. polishtownusa.com
