My sister in law has lived with my wife and me for nearly ten years. She has a green card and a Polish passport. The passport will expire in January of 2009. Can someone tell me how she can get an extension on her passport?

she ought to apply at the consulate or the embassy. expired passport is no biggy but it will cost her a bit extra. search the forums or google for web addys for polish consulate sites.

Sorry. I should have provided more info. My wife is also Polish but she has had US citizenship since 1986. My wife's sister has also applied for US citizenship and has reached the stage where she has passed all tests and has been finally fingerprinted in the last month in Miami (we live in Naples, Fl). She also has her Polish passport and we don't want her to get caught in a squeeze where her US Citizenship hasn't been finalized for some reason and her Polish passport expires. Apparently, Polish nationals living in Florida have to apply IN PERSON??? at the Polish consulate or embassy in Washington, DC. We are trying to avoid having her to go to DC in person. Can anyone help with this situation?

that's one f-ed up rule. Why do you care about Polish Passport, just go for the US Citizenship instead.

US Citizenship

these days US citizenship is rather stifling. PL passport on the other hand, is freaking golden as it's an EU passport.

I never really thought about it from the US point of view, its always we want to go to the US or Canada from this side. you guys are on the visa waiver program for incoming, but i suppose visas are just as hard for you to get as is the opposite way around.

We gat America as you get the whole of Europe.
