Poles and Britis - why we should hate each other?

Hi people!

I have been in UK for a few months. As a university graduated person I am trying to understand British mentality and attitude in many ways. Trying compare it with Polish people, one idea occurred to me recently. I asked myself a question one day: why we (Poles) and Brits shall like each other. I will try to explain my point of view and I hope you will be able to join me in the discussion.

As far as my observations are concerned, I can undoubtedly say that British society might be considered as a "dont-give-a-fu*k-society". Why? British nation has been living on a island for hundreds of years and they have never had to cared for any other nationalities. Because of this fact none of us (Polish people) should expect that a British guy or girl would like him/her. That idea I can describe as a crucial point of a discussion.

Another matter. The Poles work under the British orders trying to earn as much money as possible, while the most of the British people are not willing to work hard and they only use Polish men and women to generate a good GDP level in the economy. This is the second point.

What is more. For many years Polish people have been considered as a drunks, thieves, lazy worker by the British people. Young Polish girls and men have been viewed as some dirty idiots from a s---hole like Poland. That is why, I think, Polish people should not have reasons for liking British people.

Do not forget one important fact. When a Britis gives you a job, he/she is not giving you that job because he/she likes you but because you will be able to generate enough income for the company that other British employees can fu*k around then doing 50% of their daily job.

That is why, I would never help a British person who is for example beating up on a street by some thugs. I would never do a business with a Brit unless there is a good opportunity for getting profit.

How about Polish-British love?... Here is an explanation. Do not expect that British girl will love you. Remember that for her you will be always a poor immigrant from a s---hole like Poland. The main reason is that British girls have been living in conditions which in Poland present a good level of luxury. Tell me how many people in Poland have own houses?...and the answer should be clear: less than 15% of the whole society. Here, in UK, 80-90 % of society has houses and nice cars. That is why these girls are so demanding and a normal Polish boy has no chances in dating a British girl. Being aware of this matter will allows you to avoid many heart related problems.

The main clue is: Polish and British people don't have to like each other. Be simply neutral to each other and do not forget that we are here only for money and nothing else.

This is a little pack of my ideas. They might be helpful for someone, I hope.

Regards

British mentality and attitude

There is only one.

British nation has been living on a island for hundreds of years

Cosmopolitan? Never happened here!

dont-give-a-fu*k-society

Now I'm actually getting quite concerned.

have never had to cared for any other nationalities

Some of us are very used to dealing with other nationalities in a variety of different ways on a daily basis. It is not a slave-master relationship (with a few possible kinky exceptions).

most of the British people are not willing to work hard

I work hard. My colleagues mostly work hard too. The people who turn up as customers mostly work hard as they tend to be self-employed. There are lazy people, but surely that could be any country.

For many years Polish people have been considered as a drunks, thieves, lazy worker by the British people

I'd correct that by saying the overwhelming majority never considered Polish people at all, rather like how I wouldn't expect Poles to have all that m,any opinions about the population of Belgium.

When a Britis gives you a job, he/she is not giving you that job because he/she likes you but because you will be able to generate enough income for the company that other British employees can fu*k around then doing 50% of their daily job

My boss gave my Polish flatmate a job... because he liked him!
But nobody should expect a job for being a likeable person - but it might just help.

That is why, I would never help a British person who is for example beating up on a street by some thugs

If you were being beaten up by thugs and I thought I could actually help, and even if I knew this was your mentality, I would help you. Maybe you've been picking up on this British f*** you mentality.

Do not expect that British girl will love you

Never expect! This goes for everyone. Just aim for what you want. Love knows no nationality

Tell me how many people in Poland have own houses

One family. I don't know all that many. I do know that I will be paying for my tiny flat for the next 35 years.

I would never do a business with a Brit unless there is a good opportunity for getting profit.

Never do business at all unless you're going to make a profit.

What else is there to say?
Take people as they come, not as part of a monolithic stereotype. You're already not expecting very much (any more), so you can only be pleasantly suprised, or remain in your current, fairly cynical (to some extent justifiably cynical) mindset.

apocalipto, I think you read only trollish threads before signing up and just reacted...
Is your staying in UK really that bad? Did you just have all unpleasant, personal experiences with every Brit in the last few months? Why are you there then?

Polish and English people do come from different backgrounds, different cultures, but that's no reason to dislike each other. Learning about and acceptance of other people is very rewarding. You should try it sometimes.

I understand that some people come here from abroad and don't have a good experience.
Having a positive frame of mind is one of the things that can really make a difference though.

If I'm giving someone a job, I'm not too bothered how much I think I'll like them, I really wouldn't give a monkeys where they were from (as long as, like Poles in the UK, they are allowed to work), but I'd much rather give a job to an optimist.

Well, I've already read your answers to my a bit cynical topic. To be completely honest with all of you, I do not have so many bad experiences with British people but according to my studies my way of understanding the Brits show that I can truly confirm my attitude towards them. In my studies I read a lot of psychological books on human behavior and so on. According to the British behavior which strictly based on a simple rule - "wealth determines state of mind" is simply change some stereotypes about Brits. I know that this rule can be referred to everyone of us. I noticed however that it is referred very strongly especially to Brits.

Let a flip the coin for a minute. Does anyone of you ever think about one fact. That fact is - every nation from outside the UK might be considered as a invader. People who come here they basically have invaded th UK and that is why they will be always perceived as a persona non grata. How about that. (?)

Now I see many things in a different way although I am Polish and probably I should not tell these things.

err... how?

Apolcalipto, you seem to have got out of the wrong side of bed, and seem very bitter about a couple of issues. Anything that you would like to talk through with a caring and sympathetic Brit?

When I read most of the anti-Britain / anti-British girl threads on PF, I can't help but wonder whether the person posting has only really experienced an estate populated with pram-faces and shell suits.... Sure, there are pockets of that in the UK, but come on.... there are plenty of other great things going on in the UK.

I've had my share of bad luck here in Poland but I would never say anything like that about Polish.

I will tell you about funny event which took place in my life in UK. A few days ago I was standing at the one of the local bus stations. Day like a usual day. I was waiting for a bus that always takes me to my work. Suddenly, out of nowhere, to Brits popped up and started asking for money. These were this 17-19-year-olds probably drunk or on some drugs because they didn't like nice and "clean". When I refused them to give them the money and they heard my Polish accent they started to say things like "fuc*ing Russians" and so on and become aggressive. Because of the fact that I can handle myself as I trained martial arts for almost 2 years at the beginning of my university life (it was only for defense purposes of course) I answered them: I won't give you my money but I can crack your ******* head wide open, mother*cker" and pushed one of them so heavily that he hit the ground. The other man simply run away...hehe... Then I said "You f*cking try me!" when he was running. After this incident I thought to myself that these dirty fagots have police support and I could have been in real troubles if they start asking me why I responded in this way. All I know that these people don't pose any danger to me and I will probably finish both of them in 6 minutes :). That is why, don't be afraid to fight back to some thugs on streets if they want anything from you.

We hear an increasing number of stories about immigrant Poles being subject to violent attack.

I wonder how many of these attacks are the result of Poles shouting such things as "I can crack your ******* head wide open, mother*cker" and "You f*cking try me!" without realising the dangerous position they then put themselves in.

Its all jolly well saying dont be afriad to fight back against some thugs on the street but when you get stabbed, or smaked over the head with a brick, please, dont complain that everyone in Britiain is out to get the Poles.

Exactly!! Moral duty is moral duty. Also, well said OsioĊ‚. I read ur post a moment ago and wrote on the brother thread the same thing, i.e the Brits knew little about POLES 10 years ago. We knew the main things about Poland but not the people.

He should be pointing the finger at Germans for thievery accusations. There is a well-known idea that when a German comes to Poland to buy a car, he is likely buying his own car back. The Poles laugh about this.

OK, now now we're getting warmer apocalipto... I'm sorry to hear about what happened, but there is scum in every corner of the world. Don't write us all off because of one misfortunate encounter.

As for

That is why, I would never help a British person who is for example beating up on a street by some thugs.

I'd like to think that you wrote that in the heat of the moment, while you were still upset.

And bringing relationships / girls into your rant... a lot of your points just don't make sense.
