Frank,

Don't the Irish have some form of tartan too.

Yes.....but since we always wear underpants...the point of tartan/kilts is largely lost....lol

The kilt. Invented by an Englishman.

No idea on all the history......were kilts banned by the English at one time....I know the bag pipes were, as they were classed as instruments of war!!!

I wonder if these Polish/Scotsmen will proudly walk the streets of Krakow in their 'skirts'

According to the article they already have...in a place called .....Zlotoria, apparently local police only had to draw their batons twice before they lay down their bag pipes....:)

Thats not quite what it said. Interesting that the orders for the tartan kept the makers in business. I'm not sure if I like this tartan. I prefer darker versions.

If anyone hasn't seen it it's red white and blue. The blue is for Scotland.

The kilt. Invented by an Englishman.

Rawlinson from Lancashire claimed this in the 1720s however the natives had been wearing the kilt for centuries beforehand.

were kilts banned by the English at one time

Yes they were, so were the bagpipes, speaking Gaelic, clan system, public gatherings, any weapons, any form of Highland dress etc etc etc
Then came the clearances.

I was reading somewhere about polish soldiers who stayed after war in Scotland.
Most of them married Scottish women.

The say that some old Scottich ladies still feel bit nostagic about some polish offcers....:)

Bah, the Bagpipes are IRISH! That annoys me as much as does Flower of Scotland with its Jacobite Rebel droning!

Flower of Scotland with its Jacobite Rebel droning!

The national anthem drones on about the wars of independance in the 13th century, Jacobites were at least four centuries after that.

My national anthem is God Save The Queen :)

Ah you knew what I meant... they're all socialist pigs IMO.

The fourth verse of which is all about saving us from the Scots.
