Can anyone provide me with details of free/cheap English lessons in England with certificate upon completion?
My gf will be moving to be with me in England next year(!) but needs some certification to prove she has adequate english skills so that she can get a job in her profession.

check with your local council - they normally do free English lessons for foreigners living in their area. My wife did that course when she first came to the UK and she had exams and certificates at the end.

Polish friends of mine have done the Learn Direct english courses and they get a certificate at the end and from what I know they are pretty reasonable. She may be able to do the Learn Direct course on line too, just check out their website it's quite user friendly. - just checked out the site - seems to be quite a simple course with no cert. soz

She already has basic english as she was an au pair here in between university terms.
Trawling the net i have found ESOL courses ranging from £90 to £450 at my local colleges and university.

Look for the smaller colleges - there are tones of them in Manchester (mainly set up by Asians) - not sure about where you're from.

Here is just an example: manchestercse.co.uk - English College
