Just wondering if i were to purchase an Orange mobile in the UK if this would work with an Orange sim card from Poland?

Have tried an Polish sim in my spare phone which works with Vodafone and Orange in the UK and the SIM was not recognised. Is it possible to 'unlock' this?

if the phone has got a simlock(it works in one network only then - you can ask if it does where you bought it or in some service) it probably won't work in Orange network in Poland. It is possible to unlock it and as far as I know it is a bit cheaper in Poland to do so. The cost depends on how much of a novelty your phone is. (well it used to be possible some 4 years ago I am not really sure how about those latest phones)

It cost me 40zl to get mine unlocked, the phone is about 2 years old, though I've been told it can be done for less than that.

What is the best mobile network to go on in the UK?

i am moving to UK and will need a mobile - i will occasionally be calling Poland so a mobile carrier with good international rates would be good.

Get yourself a laptop, put some credit on there, and use skype. It is so dam cheap and you can call free to other computers. Otherwise try orange they usually have good deals when phoning abroad. Calling abroad from the Uk is very over priced on all networks.
