Hi there,

Could you please help - where in Scotland can I get Danio joghurt? (the last time I saw it was in Tesco store in Dundee).

Danio is very popular product on the polish market (150 gr, 160 gr and 400 gr, variety of flavours: vanilla, peach, strawberry etc) but for some reason it is very difficult to find it in UK?

Here is a picture of a product in case you was not sure: bdsklep.pl/product_info.php?products_id=2130

cheers!

It shouldn't be so hard, I think there are many stockists. Danone products are of international renown. Well, if you exclude Zaire :)

Try Asda or Sainsbury's

Taa Seanus.
I take it you have not been back to Scotland for a while :))

Neither Sainsburry nor asda sells it :(((

I even emailed UK's Danone and they replied they do not offer such a product on UK's market. well, the only place where I get get Danio are polish shops - but they only offer 150 gr Danios and there are always just a few on the shelf (saying nothing about the ridiculous prices for which they sell it).

well, I am a hugry Pole and need 400 gr Danio :)) lol

would order about 30 - 40 of them... if I could only find them! sniff sniff

HEEEELP!!!

:)

Can't you have a huge batch sent over from your folks or friends here?

I can have them delivered from PL but it would be easier to get them in UK...

A shop in London sells them but they only deliver within London area... oh well...

Just imagine the taste in your mouth. Sometimes that's all we have. There's A LOT of Asian food I miss that I can get back home (not as good as in Asia of course). There is a dearth of options here.

Just imagine the taste in your mouth.

This is teasing me :)))

Seriously, I know what you mean, when we must wait for something we may appreciate it more later.

Asian food you are saying, hmmm... Poland does not have as many asian places as Britain, true.
Hmm, how did you end up living in Poland Seanus?

There are many things to enjoy. I even enjoy a pot of Danio from time to time ;)

Now that's just plain cruel Seanus. The poor lady will be sitting there imagining the spoon dipping into the delicious Danio, the spoon being raised slowly to the mouth, that first mouth watering hint of vanilla bursting through....

Shame on you.

Where are you exactly, nikttaki? You mentioned Dundee. My fiancee was there and she found Polish shops. 2 for sure and possibly 3 shops.

Hunt down your nearest deli, make a day trip somewhere and shock the shop assistant by buying 50 of them.

I do that with biscuits, 10 packs ;)

Danio might be the Polish product name, but the company is French. The product name in the UK may be different. Just a thought.

The stuff is useless when it comes to health ect, better to eat pure yogurt.

That was well written. The cheers at the end was the best part.

I'm sure we have Danone products in the UK, 100%. I used to eat their yoghurts. The former sponsors of Juventus FC btw.

As I said, check the Polish places.

Wroclaw, I have already written to UK Danone :) They replied they do not sell it in UK market.

Bakoma does not have anything as delicious as Danio :( Thanks for a suggestion though Prince.

dtaylor, I eat danio, sorry Danio, as I just like it :)

Finally, Seanus ... :) ... it was just a wee trip to Dundee, and an accident I was in tesco there, you can imagine my big smile when I saw Danio on the shelf, well, plenty of them!!! unlike in any polish deli around - every time I pop in they have just a few Danio on the shelf, between polish sausages and cottage cheese! :) I dont think they would have more than 16 packs danio ( = 1 box) lol :)

Danio with "biszkopty" is good or danio with jelly.... mmmm:) oh, enough, I think somebody from Danone should read it and send me a nice gift for a free advertisement!!

You can get Danio in Tesco in Glasgow - I get it from the shettleston branch, although I'm sure I've seen it in a few other places. I'm not sure where about in Scotland you are, but if you're in Glasgow there are a few wee polish food shops on Duke street which sell danio too.

I know that you can get Danio in Tesco's in Edinburgh at the branch on South Clerk Street for sure and probably other branches too, especially the larger ones. My friend definitely buys it at South Clerk Street, I asked her today and she confirmed that. :)

Stepmagic, thanks!

To be honest I have a bad experience with polish shops - was asking for ordering a bigger amount of Danio in one of them, got a leaflet

with email address and web site address of the shop - heh, but the website does not exist and my email could not be delivered! well, if they give old leaflets to their customers it does not encourage me to order from them!!!

Hmm, do you have 400 grams Danio in your shop or just the small ones?
I need 25 big 400 grams vanilla Danios for a start :) well, all depends on expiry date too :) although I have never had problem with too many Danios :)
