I just went round to a neighbour's house to borrow the spare key. An hour an a half later I emerged after two cups of tea, a long natter and with a free bag of kiwi fruits (Actinidia chinensis).

Takeaways , I guess.

Yawn yawn yawn.

im having a party at the weekend with a mixture of Poles and Brits coming..of course i will be laying on food and drinks, but it will be interesting to see who brings what. In the Uk it is the norm. to bring a bottle to a party, but my partner says they (Polish friends) are more likely to bring gifts as its a birthday party.

when i was married and we used to have a bash my now ex brother in law was notorious for bringing cheap lager (as per sapphires bring a bottle). he would then drink the more expensive lager that i and others had bought/brought.

at the end of the night i would then give him back the tapwater strength tack that he had arrived with. thinking about it now he probably brought the same lager everytime. tight t**t.

All I can say to this subject is that I used to party with Brits before and I had a damn great time. The only strange but not mean Brits were the ones I've met during my 4 yrs in Poland, Don't ask me why, can't explain. I'm also not saying that Poles are mean but they are different for sure. As far as Polish hospitality, I guess it must have changed in the recent years because I personally haven't experienced too much of it. Sorry guys. Have a good one.

ARE BRITS MEANER AND LESS HOSPITABLE THAN POLES?

Both British people and Polish people have great pride in their hospitality and go to great lengths to make their guests feel welcome, comfortable and lavish food and drinks on you, once they have invited you.

This thread is popular because people take offence at the thought of such a crime of being rude and inhospitable.
I have been invited to the humblest of homes in Britain and Poland and there is not enough that the hosts could do for you.

That's my two cents.

Some are meaner and some are more generous. I'm on safe ground with that opinion :)

On the fence again? :)
But do you not think that when someone from Britain or Poland invite you to their home, they are hospitable?.

My mate Andy,
Inhales a condom up his nose and then coughs it out his mouth and pulls the end coming out of his nose a little and pulls the other end, coming out of his mouth.

Push me pull you, ha ha ha ha It's true ha ha ha

Party piece, LOL. Don't go in for that. My hospitality instincts seem to kick in when I see a sweetie on the streets. Just kidding ;)

I got a new friend!! Re-phrase...I've got A friend...here in Poland!!! Whoop whoop...roll on the honey wine, honey vodka, home cooking, best china (Boleslawiec pottery, sorry), trips to the movies, siteseeing, restaurants...and the BEST hospitality I have EVER been in receipt of? Is he Polish? Yes! Is he after something? Yes! Is it my body? Errrr, no! My money? What money (I spent it...I also got a new horse! Welcome to Poland Suzi the Floozy!)...He's after my ability to speak English proper! (ly...I know!)... and in exchange for the friendship and hospitality, I am more than happy to spend time in English conversation....although half way down the 2nd bottle of wine....my abilishtay to shpeak proper (ly!) .... Hic!
