Here you go, try this...English Language Test

Has enyone tried it??
I scored 41 out of 70! So depressing! Last time I achieved such a terrible result in a test was at secondary school - but that doesn't count (Mathematics :P)

scored 41 out of 70!

Don't be so hard on yourself Jova. If I took the equivalent test in Polish I would be lucky to get the one!

Jova: I scored 41 out of 70!

Don't feel bad. I only got 50. I couldn't understand the comic's accent and am not familiar with rhyming slang. Did fine in the other areas.

Just goes to prove old quotation, attributed to Oscar Wilde as well as others:

America and Britain are united by a common language and separated by a common language.

so I am. No certificate though. The comma use (there should be a space after comma). I am sorry. It makes it really hard to read. Maybe it is just me though. Being dislexic and all that.

We British pronounce it wrongly, given that vitamins means vital amines.

There hasn't been much mention on here of English-speakers from all English-speaking countries having bad spelling.

In Polish, it seems you can't just learn one form of the word and know how it works in all cases and instances. Likewise, in English, you have to learn it at least twice - once for the spelling and again for the pronunciation.

picture-writing of Chinese

bed is a good word for this.

Funny that, how differntly dyslexia can effect people? I had a freakily advanced reading age as a kid,at 7 I was tested in school and came back with a reading age of 14...I think they spotted something wrong when they saw me reading Lord of the Rings but still spelling like a 5year old :)

So spelling is only a minor problem for you - you can't read with understanding.
