Szczecin is a nice port country by the Baltic Sea. There are many hotels to choose from, for example Neptun, Boncza, Arkona, or Radisson. You don't wanna miss visiting the sea (it's sort of cold there though, but not below 0C which is good). You may also visit Gdansk and Gdynia -- I think Gdansk is the most beautiful city by the Baltic sea; it reminds me of Krakow or another "old" city. Szczecin is more industrial and port city.

I live in the south of Poland so it's too far for me to visit Szczecin area (besides, in summer it's nicer there as you can swim:).

Merged: Prices in Szczecin for meals, drinks and accommodation.

Me and a friend is going to Szczecin in the summer. What prices should we expect for buying beers at pubs, dinner at restaurants etc.

Special things we should be aware of? Recommended hotels? etc?

You should pay ~5PLZ for a beer in a pub and ~7 in a night club.
Meals @ a normal restaurant ~30 per person <10 @ a bar mleczny(milk-bar). I would recomend Bar Turysty or Jagielonia.
I recently stayed for ~80 in a decent hotel Gryf.
