You can start above ground and check out Sukiennice. You can buy some nice souvenirs but watch out for the pigeons. At noon you can hear the Polish Hejnał from the tower, Kościól Mariacki. Walk around the Planty. Walk around Wisła. Check out Wawel. You can take a tour of the castle.

You can then go underground from there and see the Skarbiec.

Honey I think he meant, the more underground bars - as a posed to attractions - meaning bars that the Polish go to and not the hoards of turists.

Merged: Everyone is talking about Krakow...

What about rest of the Poland. There are so many lovely places, but not necessary big cities such as Krakow or Warsaw or known places such as Zakopane. Of course is so much easier to get there but what about adventure?

Roztoczański Park Narodowy, Pojezierze Mazurskie, Pojezierze £ęczyńsko-Włodawskie, Bieszczady... google it, lovely places (if you know where to go). These are places where you can relax, not many tourists, just peace and quite.

What about rest of the Poland.

It's possible to spend a couple of weeks on the Masurian lakes and never visit the same place twice. Great if you enjoy sailing. Also, the small lakeside towns have a wonderful atmosphere.

It's true. Everyone IS talking about Krakow but that's not a bad thing. Most Westerners have a very poor image of Poland even though they have never visited so Krakow is a perfect introduction to shatter people's misconceptions about Poland.

After their first visit then hopefully they'll be more encouraged to explore more of the country.

I love people who are proud of their country and nationality, as i am about England, its genuinely good to see :)

as for Poland i think its a lovely place, all countries have their good and bad points, hell this is life!!
