Rail Travel From Katowice to Nove Mesto nad Vahom, Slovakia.

We are flying from Liverpool to Katowice, on Sunday 14th June, and would like to enquire if we can travel onward, by train, to Nove Mesto nad Vahom, my wife's home town, in Slovakia? I would be grateful if anyone can advise me on trains travelling between Katowice and Slovakia. (If not Nove Mesto, then maybe Zilina?)

We arrive in Katowice at 17:45hrs, and would like to allow enough time for us to get from the airport, to the railway station. I hope someone can help us.

Your first train to NMnV is at 22.40, changing at Bohumin and Zilina, and takes just over six hours. Go to the website cp.sk

Be careful while at the station, at 22:40 there are homeless people and junkies around, and although it is supposedly monitored and there are police patrols it is still dangerous, local thugs might get an interest in people who look lost. The best thing to do is to buy your tickets as early as you can, check from which platform your train departs and then just go to the near Stawowa streets, there are few restaurants and a McDonald from which you can get to the station in around 5 minutes.
