Hi-

I am flying into Berlin for Christmas and will be in Europe until mid-Januay. I have been everywhere except for Poland and would like to spend my time here during the trip. I am 25 and will be staying at hostels. I want to see Krakow and go to the Tatras but need suggestions for other polish places. What other places would you sugest for an independent traveller?

Cheers,

Chris

You could stop off in Wroclaw on your way to Krakow.

By rail. Berlin - Wroclaw about five hours. In a good/fast car... three hours.

By rail. Wroclaw - Krakow....it very much depends on the train service you use. By car 2.5 hrs.

If you have time, why waste your time with Krakow when you could take a train to Budapest? A much better option all together.

Because.

I have been everywhere except for Poland

Michal, you have been quite well behaved this week. Please, don't ruin it with your inane comments.

My friend recently visited Poland, he says that the salt mines were really good and he also went to a concentration camp (the name escapes me) which he says was interesting from a history point of view but so hearbreaking at the same time. However, if history interests you it might be an idea, beware, you may cry! x
