Thinking about having a roadtrip in Poland...

Well so far it's just the very beginning of an idea and to be honest I don't have a car and I don't drive but still it does not necessarily have to be by car I could take the train instead (I hear trains are really cheap anyways.

So yeah, I'd love to visit Warszawa, Kraków, Szczecin, Poznań, Wrocław and some other cities (Not sure which ones!) of course the seaside and also some historic places.

I'm flexible and just looking for ideas of places to go and maybe if somebody would like to join me for a few weeks...

:)

For those of you who don't know me from the forum previously I'm able to get by in Polish at a very basic level and I love to travel and meet new people and do/see new things.

So in summary:

Any recommendations of where to visit?

Anybody up for a trip to Poland to see what we can see?

Can anybody help out along the way? or maybe just meet up for a piwo?

I'd love help or info.

Cheers,

Left.

Of course you should visit Gdansk/Sopot at the seaside. And when you are there drive through more of the Mazury region. One of the most beautiful parts of Poland with its many lakes.

You can also go to the mountains, also one of the most beautiful parts of Poland.

You say a few week. Example of a nice (pretty long) road trip could be:

Warszawa-Torun-Gdansk-Sopot-Mazury region-Białowieża National Park (near Białystok)-Zamość-the mountains-Krakow.

i can recommend:
- Bieszczady (
- Zwierzyniec and generally Roztoczański Park Narodowy, Susiec (szumy)
- pojezierze łęczyńsko-włodawskie (many nice lakes)

I would also recommend bike trip through Poland - it would be much more interesting... you can take your bike into the train. just select 'carriage of bicycles required' checkbox when choosing your train: rozklad-pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bieszczady_Mountains
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roztocze_National_Park
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polesie_National_Park

in my opinion these places are much more interesting than visiting big cities like Gdansk, Krakow etc

Thank you.

I do want to see the beauty that Poland has to offer in a scenic sense but also I'd like to visit the cities ad go to some clubs etc to see some other beauties ;) after all I'm 26 and single :D

However the main purpose of my trip is to see Poland as a whole so once again thanks for the info.

Later this year or maybe even next year... I'm really flexible with everything to be honest. I'd rather change my plans and go with some people and have some company than go alone.

:)

I was hoping to do something similar this year. Looks like I'll be living in Krakow soon. Probably won't take my car over until the spring (assuming I'm still there then).

Every girl from lodz is a gold-digging crazy assed biatch. Anyone I know who has had a girl from there has always complained about this or that :D

Pretty good, I've got an SLR and a Cannon G7 which both take great video.

Why do you ask?

Why do you ask?

Just thought if this ever happens we need to film it so that PF members can share in the experience!
I got a Sony micromv DCR-IP1E, a really compact video camera.

me me me!

If she's coming I'll have to buy a new car

Ohh yes... I love to document my trips in whichever way shape or form I can! I'd be an excellent cameraman!

Nice little DV cam.

Don't worry about that, we are stopping off to see her rather than her traveling with us... I think? or am I incorrect JB?

I actually thought of travelling! But I guess you don't want me there. Why a new car? Is old one to small so there's no room for me :(

Why wouldn't we want you there? We could use a native! You could ride in the boot :D or we my have to find something a bit bigger, we'd save on money that way too.

:)
