What are the most overrated or disappointing places you have visited while traveling to Poland?

Today I read an article in Polish and they said that Zakopane, Krakowski Kazimierz, Władysławowo, Ojców, Pustynia Błędowska, and Wisła are the most overrated places in Poland.

Any other opinions and comments?

Isn't all down to personal taste? - I was bored half way through the tour of the salt mines but everyone else on here whose been, they have raved about it. Whilst it was quite impressive, the sculptures were very good (okay understatement they were amazing - well some were) - I just found the experience a bit drawn out and was bored to tears by the end of it.

I've got to say that I found the Mazurian Lake District very disappointing. It is totally beyond me how this place ended up on a list of the world's best places.

Why ? Because when one is sailing the only thing one can see is water, more boats and the tree lined shore. When sailing with a good wind or enjoying the sun it may appear beautiful, but in that case so would the Havel Lakes in Berlin or anywhere else.

Admittedly, on my last visit I kept off the boat as much as possible and walked as much as 30km a day... from port to port. Then I could admire the countryside, farms, large houses and forests, but I still don't consider the area to be of outstanding natural beauty.

The Lake District in England seems to offer much more, at least in the way of colour and diversity of landscape.

To sum up:
The Mazurian Lake District is a great place to go. Good sailing, nice little bars, various activities on offer. It just doesn't live up to it's reputation as 'the best'.

sopot. maybe it was the time I was there. They had some pop music festival but I have never seen so much fake blond hair, shoulder tats on women and missing teeth. It was a scene not to be forgotten. I ate some chips and had a fun time watching the people...

I think Sopot is a great place for young people and families, the beach is great you can walk to Gydinia along the coastline, its a small place and really really safe. I like Sopot very much. If you want Mcdonalds and the daily mail on every corner, coupled with English breakfast in every cafe, well this might not be the place for everyone.

Leba is by far the most over-rated place I've been to in the world.

I can't say I've ever noticed it to be rated particularly highly, so I wouldn't really say the reality could be much of a disappointment in relation to the fantasy.

Kraków is an overated place to visit but it is probably still the best place to visit in Poland. It is only overated in comparison to the rest of the world. Berlin would rank far higher inmho. There are more things to see or do in Berlin.
