I'm going to Poland in the summer and my friend scared the life out of me that the dollar is supposed to go way down...How is it looking right now? Does anyone know if this is accurate information? Is USD really going to go way down?

Don't worry you can come to Poland work illegaly, slowly bring your family over live 5 familys in one room work for less than minimun wage and in squalid conditions and send the Zloty back to America and live like a king. It's the Polish dream, the streets are paved with gold

The dollar has lost a lot of it's value in the past 2 years. More drastically in the last year. Prices of consumer products have stayed the same in zloty, but since the dollar has dropped so much it makes things more expensive. These products were already at a premium to begin with. The only thing that is somewhat cheaper is food, but food prices are going up, so the price of most things is pretty much the same as in the states or more. Sadly looks like the days of the rich dollar in Poland are done. Another note is a lot of places of accommodation usually list their prices in Euro, which makes things even worse for someone who uses the dollar.

Buy some zlote now, put it in the bank over there, you may even get some interest. You can easily do it online.

...and it's still falling. This is pretty depressing; I hope their will be a "blip" soon. I can't believe I was in Poland some years ago and it was 1 dollar = 4.25 zł
