Katowice night life is an oxymoron. One of the worst cities ever for nightlife. The only nightlife is that which can be seen swinging from the trees.

I'll be honest, I've been in Kato for three months now and I don't think the nightlife is that bad, ok it's not the greatest but in my honest opinion, Glasgows nightlife is far worse...yes there are many bars/clubs to choose from in Glasgow, but theres not much choice of scene in Glasgow, it's all pretty similar stuff so thus far I would say the nightlife I've experienced in Kato is in some way better, however, it does depend on what scene your into :0) I stayed in Amsterdam for a few years, now there's a city you will never beat for nightlife

It's just a matter of preference. Katowice doesn't even get close to Glasgow in my eyes but each to their own. Maybe you are factoring in the eye candy element ;)

Female proceeds to down full pint of Magners in a 'wanner'

Sweaty Betty's, LOL. Yeah, hardly the most romantic of tacks they have. I could do without that.

but back to the original point, I don't know too much yet to be honest..... my girlfriend has been ultra busy studying recently as have most of our friends but I have been to Inqbator, near the train station, I liked it but it was kinda tunes so for me the club itself doesnt matter, it's more the music. I have heard of Spiz, as the local student club but have heard mixed reports, some ok, some bad but no-one has really said it was good or great. There is a club in Chorzow, closeby, which is the pick of the bunch for me so far, it's called Zanzibar, a small, underground club...just the way I like it ! :0)

You can find a list of clubs and bars on this site: ultramaryna.pl/lokale.php

but it's in Polish so I'm not sure it will help. There are some clubs with different music, so it depends on what you like.

As for Silesia I much more prefer Gliwice to Katowice, probably because Kato is a really hideous city, most of it is still really "prl'ish" and Gliwice has got a nice city square with some decent pubs, old german architecture. On the other hand there's probably much more music events in Kato, i.e. in Mega Club. As for pubs I like Spiz in Kato..

When the beer gardens open up and the parasols come out, that's when it gets nice. K-town has a wider scene but not as classy as here in Gliwice I think.
