Dec 31 to Jan 06 - Visiting Warszawa and Krakow

Just got here 'cause it might be helpful - I'm gonna visit Poland (Warszawa and Krakow)over the New Year from Dec. 31 to January 06, all alone and need advice on what to see and to do. Would be great to get your suggestions or just any kind of feedback :)

I think the old part of Krakow will be very beautiful during the time you are planning to be there. One of my favorite restaurants there is Chlopskie Jadlo; there is an ice rink (krakowianka) a little farther from the old town. Then, there are a bunch of classical concerts at the Philharmonic Hall.

You'll have a fantastic time.. Maybe you can try visiting Wieliczka Salt Mine or Bochnia (30 km from Krakow) and its Salt mine. The town is one of the oldest in the region. Maybe Auschwitz...may be a bit cold though....The jewish quarter Kazimierz has a lot of nice places to eat & drink. if you ski or snowboard make sure you go..there are a few places near Krakow. For new years you can visit Zakopane. Beautiful that time of year.
