Chicago-Krakow airfare (April-August 2007)?

I want to fly to Krakow, Poland this year during the summer season (April-August). I would be flying out of Chicago. What would be the fair price. I found $1100 today as the cheapest. It kind of seems high. Is this a accurate fair price? Or when is the best time to buy my airfare?

$1,100 is not too high in the season (I'd say May-August are the most expensive tickets to Poland). Note the US dollar is weak, so don't count on much better prices (maybe you could get something for 1K with, but not a direct flight). Check lot.com (the Polish airlines).

How in the world can DOMA give away tickets for $300? Off-season and you have to sit in luggage storage?
I checked with Lot.com and it quoted me for $1170. But...this is a direct flight correct? I guess I can wait around for a special and hope the prices don't skyrocket because I waited to long. Also, to be more precise; I'm hoping to fly out July/August. Hope this helps.

Yes, they do only direct flights from Chicago to Krakow and Krakow to Chicago. I don't know how they can offer $300 tickets (maybe one way in November?). If you hope to fly July/August - I don't think you're going to get a better deal than $1,100 - it's the highest season.

Wita, those are pretty good prices. Thanks for the info. Seems like that's the way to go.
As for the $1100 ticket, it's O'Hare to Munich, layover for about an hour, then to Krakow. About 11 hours. Pretty good.
I would go on a off-season month for a better price but this is my only chance. Go then or stay home.
Thanks again everyone. I appreciate all the info.

Well, I don't exactly live in the city but close enough to fly out of. I would rather just call or email for the sake of extra traveling.

Actually I'm in Wisconsin. I checked with MKE (Milwaukee Airport) and it was surprisingly cheaper to go through O'Hare. But I did once live in Des Plaines.
