Studying Polish with a view to becoming a Translator or Interpreter

Hi,

I'm looking for a University level course that could take me from my woeful level of Polish comprehension to fullblown fluency, even if it takes a few years. Does such a course exist or am I on my own? I know there are hundreds of private schools all over Poland, but what I'm looking for is something formal that will eventually give me the credentials and confidence to become a translator or interpreter (English<->Polish).

I don't want to take a lot of little Polish courses. The course at Jagiellonski (KrK) is a year, but it's not enough, I suppose after the year you could take a course there again at a higher level. What I'm looking for is a course that starts at the beginning and ends at fluency.

If there was a course that had a translating/interpreting year at the end of it, that would be great!

So Joe, what do you know?

I doubt there are any courses that will give you fluency in Polish - there was no real demand for such thing untill quite recently. So you can get courses which will improve your Polish but you would have to make your own way to the fluency level. Good luck anyway pal :)

Thanks Gumishu, it seems this way. I'm in Australia right now and there isn't a single University level Polish course. Oh well. I suppose there are other countries in Europe that offer such a course but I want to live in Poland.
