I live in the USA and I am in 10th grade. I am getting very good grades in all my subjects: A's and B's. How hard would it be for me to get into the Politechnika Gdanska? I want to major in naval architecture (that is why I chose Gdansk ;))

Are you really good at math and physics? Do you speak Polish well enough? Your bilingual skills and access to the newest technology and learning methods will be a good advantage for you. I think you should do well.

I know for a fact that young technicans and infomaticians win main prizes on all sort of tournaments for univeristies around the world.
And stydubg in Gdansk will give to the oportunity to study with the best.

patryk it is a good school...I know a couple people who have attended there and it has a good reputation....but despite what Poles think about theirs or anyone else's education system it is largely what you make of it yourself.

Poles often cheat on exams...using crib notes or cheat sheets and it is kind of accepted as culture. I know many Master's and PhD students that act like it is no big deal. But this means you have lots of people with degrees that may not be doing the work...you do not want to be like this.

Just keep studying like you are now...keep up your very good grades...and don't lower your standards no matter what school you go to.

I heard that compared to American universities, the Politechnika is really not that good or that is at least what somebody told me. What is the acceptance rate there and when I graduate high school in the US, what do I have to do when I apply in Gdansk? Will they recognize as high school degree from the us?

I am getting A's in all my science classes (chemistry, biology, physical science) and I am getting A/B's in my Geometry Advance class.

what do I have to do when I apply in Gdansk

go read their website - even if there's nothing there to answer your questions directly, you'll find contact names/addresses/emails

I can't compare, but Politechnika Gdańska is really hard to survive- especially maths and mechanics- as I heard (I never studied there)
It's about 30-40 % students to graduate, but students teams wins many international prizes.
I wish You luck- and You can contact me when You arrive. I can help with accomodation or smg
