In year 2007 we had new record of amounts of money sended to our beautiful country (mostly help for families or investements) by Poles living in foreign countries.

20 bilions PLN = 9 bilions USD

great year

all in all there must be advantage that 10 milions Polish people don't live in Poland.

After a few years of a career you'll miss the university. :]

Everyone always says they can't wait to get out of high school or college, but then they realise thats what they miss the most. :]

English people invest money in China because they think that it will be more profitable in future ...

For some Polish people it is easier to invest money in Poland (btw it is great place to invest)

IMO ;) Poland still isn't USA (take it for consideration) that is why still so many Polish people work as kitchen porters in UK ... :O)

Situation is much better and perspectives are good so I am glad that you want to move back :)

wow wow wow hang on mate, i didn't say investing in Poland is bad, no way, i just meant people that live in other countries and send all the money they earn back to Poland.

When they come back to settle here ... they are Polish :P

When they live in Chcago for 20 years time and once in 5 years go to Poland for 2 weeks trip ... they are American ...

People have different aims in life ... some people send everything some nothing ...

I'd do exactly the same to be honest. If Polish wages were 3-4 times more than the UK I'd go to Poland, earn my wage and send all the money back to England to buy a house, a car, savings etc. I wouldn't give a rats arse about the Polish economy. I'd just use it to my advantage.

But when you earn the money you can do what you like with it. You can spend it on yourself, save it, give it to charity or, indeed, send it to Poland if you like.

True, as long as you pay taxes you can do whatever you like with the money you earn.

sick sick sick, take from the country and send it home, i'm sick of hearing this rubbish!!!!.

If they're working legally and paying the proper taxes, how is it 'sick' to send money home? The thing about capitalism is that once you've earned the money, you can do pretty much anything you want with it. It especially makes sense to those that aren't planning on staying.

look at Lukasz's logic: you are truly Polish only if you live in Poland or live abroad but send all your money to Poland and visit regularely. But you are no longer Polish if you move abroad and dont send any money to Poland or don't visit more often than once in 5 years. Durniowi nie przetłumaczysz, on swoje wie ;). I suppose i'm about 50% Polish now as i only send money to Poland as a birthday treat or surprise to someone from my family BUT i visit about 1-2 times a year... And i'm not really planning to return and settle back down in Poland either. Would probably have to listen to people like Lukasz everyday telling me what a trator i was and always will be ha ha.

True, as long as you pay taxes you can do whatever you like with the money you earn.

yes, you have no responsibility to spend it in he country you earned it in. might as well wipe your ass with that money or have a bonfire, it's nobody's business.

Impossible, they keep much more money than they send. They have to pay rent, food, etc.

Exchange rate is really good, thats why a few pounds will get you a lot of zloty. They earned that money anyway, why should they have to spend it your way?

Haha. The US is BONED! Even the Indians don't want their money anymore...that says something.

Doesn't stop all these Indian professionals fighting over each other to get to the US.

The dollar is rebounding, while the strong Euro, Pound and even Zloty mean than
exports will be a problem for these countries. EU ministers are already wetting their pants over this. They WANT a stronger dollar, the US administration and businessmen I spoke to over there don't really mind at the moment, its better for exports anyway.
