Since Admin has so kindly started a YouTube link up I've decided a thread dedicated specifically to idiotic Polish youtube video's. Starting with my favourite. People in Poland are idiots sometimes.
I wouldn't be surprised it was posted before.. but if you missed it, this is still a true classic :) Enjoy! (in Polish) (skip the first candidate, it's all about the 2nd guy in the funky sweater)
My missu showed me several podcasts with this "wannabe MP", just goes to show how ******* cruel polish humour is putting a mental defective up to ridicule the current political elite. however, the point made is quite clear.
Giles, do you suggest that the 'mental defective' you're talking of has ridiculed 'the current political elite'? If yes, then how? :)
Oh, and Giles - are you suggesting that somebody has purposely put up your 'mental defective' to 'ridicule the current political elite'? If yes, who would this somebody be?
Well from what I gather the gentleman featured in the video was set up to run as an MP. However, this chap is slow and clearly not 100% with the program. I'm not sure who put him up to it.
Probably just the media, the way he ridicules the whole Polish political establishment is the fact he is being put on the same platform as other MPS. i'll try and dig up some stuff on him.
Actually I'm sure some of the native Poles would be much clearer in explain who and the how.
Basically, as anyone can see without even knowing a word of Polish, the guy's a joke. The story goes that presumably 2 teenagers with too much time on their hands & a convicted car thief met this guy somewhere, somehow.
They started a bogus political party & told 'em he'd be the best candidate for the job. He took it very seriously, more seriously then those founders ever expected, they backed off. He then put this interview up on TV.. and the rest is history.
There was an eBay auction of a sweater like his that had to be pulled off 'cause it went for ridiculous ammounts. :-D
Anyway, the guy's not very bright.. he lives with his mother in a wooden shack & got 2% of the votes. Too bad really, he'd be a fine mayor. He'd certainly restore fashion sense.
In brief: The woman in tan cardigan tells the journalist (who asks her wheter she is or is not afraid of any damages to her wares) about her fears before a big manifestation and she points at ''Polish Families' League'' (far-right, ultra-catholic party) as the party with the most hot-headed demonstrants. Then some grandma is putting her two cents in the conversation yelling 'Super party, you w***e'.
