Chairman of TVP flies the racist flag for Poland

but do not meet the criteria?

get the old snip snip?

they must be self aware enough to realize that?

Thats the big problem, that these people must know it probably isnt a good career move to spout trash like this, but do it anyway,it speaks volumes for their levels of self control and general emotional maturity doesnt it. I personally dont like rascist views,I probably hold a few deep down but thats not the point, day to day I try to be colour blind and certainly dont see any inherant superiority in any one skin tone but do see superior "cultures" or aat least norms of behaiviour, islams treatment of women for example I abhore, doesnt mean I hate all muslims,I just wish theyd get out the 14th century now and again.

If all negative views about other races/cultures whatever are proscribed and subject to legal actions this does not drive thoughts and ideas from peoples minds,it just drives it underground. So instead of open dialogue sociaty seems to be breeding simmiring resentments that simply dont get an open forum and a chance to be debated publicaly.

The question is though,as stupid and offensive to some as his remarks were, were they said in private

No they were not. They were said at an official dinner for TVP representatives and INPUT representatives. There were some 40 people around the table.

Is this man in his day to day working life on a Polish TV station really going to affect the working lives or employment prospects of many/any people of African descent? It would be different in a more "multicultural " sociaty but in a 99% white one, whats the biggie?

The biggie is that he's made Poland look like what it isn't: a nation of bigots.

I haven't seen you atacing so strong Daily Mail which was openly anty Polish or journalist form The Times (Giles Coren) calling Poles Fu**ing Polacks ...

I personally exposed a Daily Mail scam (and made sure that the story got into national media in the UK) which was aimed at proving Poles went to the UK and broke British law. To prove this they proposed to pay Poles money to go to the UK and break British law. I've also repeated written newspaper columns attacking The Daily Mail's attitude to Poles. Giles Cohen is a racist ars*hole who needs shooting.

Why don't you move to Israel?

Because there are far too many unpleasant people living there. And I wouldn't get a visa either: they only give visas to Jews.

Back to the topic, Farfal's comment was racist but these sorts of things happen everywhere, unfortunately.

Everywhere? Name three other directors of national public broadcasters who have done the same. Just three. Should be easy given that you have about 180 to choose from.

Though you have to admit, South Africa is one big mess.

That it is. And getting more so by the day.

I always thought you were a jew (don't be shy, tell us for real), you love to bash poles and love to suck up to the jews. Maybe your ultra pro-jewish stance will impress israeli officials and let you into their country.

I still can't understand why you choose to remain in Poland, a country you hate so much.

That would be because you are as wrong about me hating Poland as you are about me being Jewish.

Lol Harry well you seem to act Jewish. Mabye its in your blood an you dont know it.

And btw, about your nation of bigots. I have not heard anything about this story. It really is a minor thing and so far your just making a rock out of sand.

you could have found many, more international comments, that are racist and more signifying than this guy who said monkey which is clearly a slander used as a general slur, NOT AS A RACIST ONE.

You live in Poland right? So you should know that monkey is not a racist comment but a word to describe someone that is stupid.

Just because people take things out of cultural context does not mean anything.

No, you are Poland's and Roman Catholic Church's best friend. The same way Uncle Stalin was our best friend: an absolute pinnacle of honesty and paragon of virtue.

Exactly. There was a famous incident when our president during a press conference called a female jurnalist a 'stupid monkey in red' ( and she was white )

So in Poland when somebody calls you a monkey it means they think you are a stupid, stubborn, lazy idiot :)
So when some american newspaper published a cartoon with the shot monkey (the one from the coke commercials) with a comment that they will have to find somebody else to plan bailouts, it was clear in Poland that the bailout plans were created by some stupid lunatics and that it was about Paulson, Geithner and Bernanke. Americans instantly saw Obama on that cartoon... its all about race in the USA...

I'm very certainly no friend of the Roman Catholic church. Any organisation that thinks spreading lies about how condoms cause AIDS is not one I will tolerate.

By the way, nice to see you making yet another post which contains nothing other than ad hom attacks against me.

Don't even bother with the reason; you just can't stand the RC church. Period.

You will survive.

Care to explain your comment in context of the following report in this week's New Poland Express?

Legre Karamoko, a 34 -year-old black Frenchman visiting Bialystok, was attacked by local hooligans, as well as being subjected to a non-stop stream of abuse and monkey cries throughout his visit.
Mr Karamoko was attacked on May 1st by a gang of ten young men while waiting at a bus-stop, two elderly women coming to his aid before he was seriously hurt. Police
reacted quickly, arresting four youths, but there are doubts about the arrests as at
least one of those held has a cast iron alibi.
This follows on from a recent incident where a black Swedish woman was abused and punched by a young thug in a Bialystok shopping mall unfortunately named Galeria Biala (the White Gallery). In this incident many local residents apparently reacted merely with embarrassed laughter, and a security guard stood and watched without intervening, for which he was later sacked.

It might have had something to do with the city's name and could have never happened in, say, Blackpool or Brownsville.

I'd say it is a fairly safe bet that there are racist idiots in both those cities. But it's far less likely that anybody from the UK or USA (i.e. the countries in which those cities are located) would try to claim that making monkey noises at a black person is not racist.

I used to live in a place called Birch Green. Very small, very low population too. No Martians are prepared to live there.

One probably doesn't need look further than this very PolishForums website. It seems to be a rule of thumb that racial slurs would immediately follow as soon as the words appear on the screen that indicate the origin of a poster, even if they are not even to the least extent remotely related to the topic of discussion.

It is astonishing that somehow on this website simple words referring to some geographical parts of this planet or merely some natural colours carry the magic of generating fear and paranoia.

I think that you are missing the point here. You wrongly assume that every 'cosmopolitan' is an ass*ole. Neither all nationally minded people are OK.

Quite true...I was just making a joke...Actually, another forum member described Harry as a 'cosmopolitan'...But what's the point?...Some Poles have 'prejudices'?...So does everyone!
