Isn't there a code of conduct for teachers in cases like these.

Bones ( I love that sitcome), are you in denial or something?
In my (humble) opinion you are on a little game/power trip/ tease/ have nothing else to do/don't want to date my peers/other excuses/blah/blah/blah/like to play with fire/attention seeker trip.
If you really cared for him, you would not tease him.

I'm not in denial, I'm not on a powertrip/tease/nothing else to do.

I don't tease him. He teases me.

sapphire, how would meeting his wife make things worse if nothing is going on bewteen him and I?

try it and see. I doubt she will be stupid enough not to see the infatuation you have for him and it may place suspicions in her mind, that dont need to be there if its entirely innocent. Grow up and get a boyfriend.

someones living in cloud cuckoo land thats for sure ... get over the infactuation and get on with your life jeeesss

if he was really that interested in you he would have made a move sounds to me like he has alot of respect for his wife and family and you are just providing him with a little attention away from home ....

Friday, the 11th, I told him exactly how I felt and suffered a severe mental breakdown. I believe that was the hardest I had ever cried in my life.

Today (Monday) I told him how I was sorry for letting him see me like that Friday. He told me that I shouldn't have asked for the truth if I couldn't handle it.

It's going to be tough letting him go, but if he's happy, so am I :]

Its good that you did bones. We often want what we can't have. Letting go is hard but its a necessary skill to have in life. It took me long enough to learn that.

Kudo's for doing the right thing Bones, you should be proud of yourself :)

Related: Lecturers in Poland - was it allowed to have affairs with students in the 80s?

Just wondering how culturally acceptable it might have been for an academic to get a student pregnant in the 1980s?

Perfectly acceptable. The director of the college where I trained teachers in the mid 1990s was married to a former student, as were at least two of the other staff. My girlfriend now was also my girlfriend then as well as being a 5th year student at the time.

Thanks everyone.
All my comrads have told me I've done the right thing by letting go. It's the right thing for sure, but time man, it sucks.

I'll check out that movie, no doubt. Give me a chance to find it though. It'll probably be hard to find it where I'm located because nothing in this godforsaken city is useful.
