I need to know if this is just a phase I'm going through....

I just relocated from Connecticut to the Jacksonville area of Florida. I am half Polish, half Italian; I have never dated a Polish guy, mainly because I was never really around them --- it was mostly Italian and Irish guys that I had exposure to while growing up and throughout my career thus far.

Exactly one month ago yesterday, Luke walked into my life.

This may sound pathetic, but here goes: Luke was the head of the moving team who packed up my condo and brought all of my belongings down to Florida with me. When he pulled up in the huge 18-wheeler, I immediately zoned in on the Polish eagle decals on either side of his truck and was pleased to see that my mover proud of his Polish descent. Although ten years younger than I, Luke and I hit if off quite well, as more than just boss/employee -- it was like we were long lost friends. I had to keep telling myself, "Stop it. He's your hired mover for God's sake!". Since that first day, I've seen him only one other time, when he arrived in FL with my belongings. We've spoken on the phone a couple of times, and he's phoned me to "check in" from the road. He has a girlfriend, and he lives in CT, so I'm not pursuing anything with him. BUT, in speaking to Luke and getting to know him, I became enamored with him; I was so impressed with his stories of life in Poland, and how he came to this country 10 years ago, knowing no English, but establishing himself here by opening a business, getting his pilot's license.....he had his act together. He was somewhat cynical in his opinions because of the homelife he had endured in Poland, but his genuine, huge heart shone through. He was/is a dedicated, loyal hard worker, who appeared sincere.

He reminded me of my late grandfather, Grandpa Haberek, who was all Polish.

I can't stop thinking about Luke, as he is the only representation of a (living) Polish man I have to go on. I want "more"......I want to know more about the mysterious Polish men......maybe its nothing, maybe I'm just bored..........but then again, maybe there's some magic to those magical Polish guys....

WHERE do I find them? Should I try the Polish American Clubs in Daytona and Jacksonville? I found a Polish dating site but everything was written in Polish, and I don't speak the language. Do I go the Black Knight Polish Deli in St. Augustine and wait for some hot Polish guy to come in for some pierogies?! LOL. Any positive input appreciated!

xoxo

Bubbllzz,

I know that, if you were interested in me, I would be tender, sweet, and kind, and I would make love to you all the time. :) After our love making, we would have some pierogi.

:)

When I eat pierogi I always try to shape them myself so that they match my imagination...

Well, when I put a fried piece of bacon - it's pink too (and I like it this way...).

OK. Now that I've calmed down after laughing for 5 hours straight, let me ask you one more question:
do you like them stuffed with silicone?

Sorry, I was watching my favourite movie (my original title is "Pierogi fest"). I personally prefer natural ones - such that look natural too - a little oil always do the trick.

Small World! I sold the house and moved out of Fairfield, CT Aug. 2004 back to the Philippines. I travel internationally 3 months a year and since I was so overweight after a few years in the States I went decided to head for the mountains of Nepal ( the only time in my life I have been thin was when I spent 8 months in Nepal, India & Sri Lanka ).

Sounds SO familiar to my experience meeting this Polish woman 2 years ago in the Nepalese Himalayas coming down from the Lang Tang trek. I was SMITTEN and after email communication evry few weeks for the last two years I'm here in Poland visiting her now.

My advice is to follow your passion with Luke first accepting your meeting him as fate as I have done. We continue being attracted to each other's companionship but have not became lovers, nor may never be, who knows? ( granted; "women always have the right to change their minds") As I deal with this physical rejection I have also had similiar thoughts as yours wondering if my friend's magnetism has something to do with Polish women, in general, but have decided against that possiblity. I'm SO OBSESSED with this 30 y.o. Polish woman I feel like "singing in the rain", "dancing on tables" "wishing upon a star" really SILLY schoolboy crush type feelings and I'm 52 y.o.

Okay here's one question for the members; generally speaking, how much does age difference between men and women in Poland matter when making decisions to commit to a long term relationship with or without children? Does a 52 y.o. have ANY chance with a 30 y. o.?? ( even a "needle in a haystack" remote chance??)
