living my life here in the middle east, wasn't that easy especially am living alone..there are alots of expats here as well coming from all over the world, but it seems like guys here aren't that much serious when in terms of relationship. Arabs, expats are mostly the same.. but not all.. its either they have family and children and they wanna hook up or in the other hand, they have 2 or 3 girlfriends..common thing here is,they'll gonna play, cheat and left the woman..its based on my friends opinion and their experience as well..its very rare to found such a nice guy here..its been almost 3 yrs am working here but one day, when i feel so down,i end up with one website. and through there i met my Polish guy.

im 24 years old Filipina from central luzon near to manila and my boyfriend was same my age and he is from Slupsk..and currently working in UK. its almost been 7 months since we started to fall in love with each other.we have continuous communication everyday and everything seemed to smoothly going.. in terms of compatibility, yes, indeed.

what can i say about my polish bf? he has a good heart, he is so cute, funny, gentleman, and what mostly i like is he is such a responsible man, and if he promise something, he will really do it,unlike other guys that, if they promise, they'll just forget about it. there are lots of qualities that make me loved him,but i think this is quite enough coz i might feel sleepy if i tell the whole thing.. all i can say is he strucked my heart so deeply! love him so much! and he love me as well.

after months of waiting,as he promised, he went here in the gulf just to see me.. isnt that so sweet? =) he cross all over those countries from uk just to be with me.. anyhow, about our first meeting?? it was excellent! everything went well. then saddest day came co he has to left.. i cried,he cried too.. its so painful to see him go away coz,it will take months again for us to see each other.. having long distance isnt easy but what makes it special is the love and trust we had for each other.

And the happy thing is.. even his friends and family knew about our relationship =)
his mom is even communicating with me and calling me as her own daughter..
this coming December am visiting him to UK and we will spend our first Christmas and new year together..

something unexpected.. way back 2 nights ago, is one of the best days of my life!!! he asked me to marry him,and i said yes!! i was so so so happy. he even apologize coz he wanted to do it properly and personally but he said, when i arrive he will do it again and ask me to marry him.. i couldn't ask for more!! it was such a blessing to me.. thank God. he was such a really nice guy, no vices.. he is not a drinker and doesn't smoke..

he asked me if we can make civil wedding first in Poland so he can get me and be with him in UK, then later when we had enough savings, will go for the church wedding..so i agree..but there is still no settlement of which month would it be.. just hoping this coming year.

i would really like to make him more happy, and give him my very best, i love him so much..
as well as his family. i know theres no reason, but am just afraid to lose him, especially in times like these,we are far away.

are there any tips on how to make our relationship more stronger? i would also like to know more how to please polish guys, about poland, cultural beliefs and values as well.. and i would also like to know some polish dishes, some recipe so i can prepare for him.

til then..

Hi!
what a lovely letter! I'm happy for you two :)

My Polish guy likes to eat home food like pierogi or salty broth 'rosół'. Pierogi are commonly known, but I will share a rosół recipe that he said is better than his Mom's

You need a large pot of water 7l, half-full, and a small pot of water. Take some beef, for example half a kilo or more. Beef will give a strong, thick taste. Chose the part of beef that has some white parts, but not fatty parts. Take a chicken, a yellow skinned country chicken, cut it in parts and throw away any loose skin, because it's greasy. Cut the breasts away for a different dish. you can add more kinds of meat if you saved from another dish in the freezer - a duck wing, a goose neck, other birds. 5 kinds of meats is best.

Take 5 vegetables: 3 carrots, 2 parsnips, half a celeriac, a leek, some parsley. Peel them.

Take herbs: piment balls, pepper balls, juniper balls, salt, laurel leaves.

The way to cook is:

put salt in the big pot

boil water in both pots

put the beef in the small pot for a while, to make sure all the blood residue comes out, it will foam. not for too long. then put the beef in the big pot, add herbs. cook on slow fire, without lid.

after the beef becomes soft do the same with chicken.

after the chicken becomes soft, add vegetables, but the leek only for a while or the smell will be bad.

when everything is soft take it all out. use the vegetables for Salata Russa, and the meats for pierogi or paszteciki (mini pates). Drain the rosół so it is only liquid.

Then the important part - cook it for a while more to make sure it looks clear, and serve with krajanka (flat wheat pasta, short or in nests. use Italian)

Put the parsley on top of the soup. It should be salty and with ground pepper.

This soup will keep for 3 days, if it's drained, kept in the fridge in a plastic box, and without any metal spoons inside. After 2 days it's better to add something sour to it, to change it into tomato soup or beet soup.

Good luck!

Make bigos then he'll fart all night.
Just boil a stupid cabbage and dump some road kill or other crap and let it boil till it stinks.
Then serve it to him. A Poles favorite dish.
