Buckets are for nails, sand or dung. They shouldn't be for food.
Why do KFC not realise this?

Oh Yes, I agree. But a bucket of chicken sounds good to me especially when i cant be bothered to cook.

As long as its not all drum sticks and fukin wings, and small ones, give your chickens steroids or something to beef them up a bit, we all do

It is all rather a shame as there used to be fine cheap places to eat in Poland and Poland did not have to resort to McDonalds food chains. Now that so many of these little traditional food places have gone McDonalds has a monopoly. Just another sign of the international way things are going. I think that I saw the best days of Poland.

There are still many good places to eat you just need to know where to go.
So yeah, I agree on the point the the main streets are dominated with crap international restaurants and fast food chains.

You can walk through many parts of London and see:

Alabama Fried Chicken, Tennessee Fried Chicken, Georgia Fried Chicken, Mississippi Fried Chicken, Alaska Fried Chicken...
Well, maybe I made the last one up myself.

Does this happen in Poland?
Fast food chains in a country with such a great food culture. Discuss.
(Discuss, or just disgusting?)

no we dont have so many options when it comes to the clones of the original KFC.
I prefer to go and order good old pierogi, barszcz ukrainkski and all the other polish staff that I know is not poisonous.

ps. I found a place where they're serving horse meat! so you better watch out donkey they might be comming for you soon!

you know the home office for AmRest who runs KFC is right there in Wroclaw... you might just take your complaint straight to them.... then maybe ask for a job sorting wings...

Have you tried an avergare Uk Kabab these days you would be chukin that all night.

The old colonel did hit winning recipe though.

As you may have gathered Im a bit of a fan of the symplistic junk food.

Polish food is great, I love it all OHH except Flacki, what is in that stuff? Is it trype as we know it?

One of our workers wives is a great cook, Pierogi, Barzch czerwony, Glowabki, Crokiet. Its good stuff. Almost makes up for the low grade beef and Lamb scenario.

I believe the root of the problem lies in the fact that the chickens in Poland are likely less saturated with chemicals, hormones and steroids. That's why your wing and drum were so damned skinny. Here in North America, our top notch scientists have perfected (perverted?) the art of growing chickens in less than a few weeks, and then off to the deep fryer with them.

All this stuff about old style milk bars being better is rubbish.

If they were better they would still be thronged by customers and would not have gone bust.

Some facts

- they were cold
- food was often cold
- women working there were bad tempered and ignorant
- food was swimming in grease, even Polish classics like Pierogi came covered in a mixture of water and grease
- they smelled of cabbage
- you had to share a table sometimes with some jakey with a hacking cough

Give me KFC or Macs anyday. Mind you KFC is hardly ever executed properly in Poland (I used to work at KFC myself when I was a student so I am an expert in their high standards !)

that made me laugh. I did some mystery shopping recently at both KFC and McDonalds.. I quite like KFC but McDonalds make me wanna heave, so it wasnt a pleasant experience.. I even had to inspect the toilets! I like it when countries come up with their own versions of the international chains... ones that I have seen include: Burger Queen, McDavids, McRonalds... and the list goes on... the best name for a fast food outlet that Ive seen is Crap Burger.. and yes, they were.

Well, maybe I made the last one up myself.

these tend to be halal shops owned by people from south asia - the closest connection they have with USA is: they have seen a hollywood movie

a friend of mine in london has a place called chicken cottage, i am thinking of offering this service in warsaw after i save some money, i think wroclaw, katowice, poznan, lodz and warsaw and gdansk and bialystok... the home town lublin still needs some development...

Anyway the latest on my original thread, i have actually been quite lucky with the chicken allocation recently. After ordering a two piece meal within the past few weeks I got a breast 2 out of 4 times. Thats a massive improvement, i guess i need to learn how to say no wings or drumsticks please with that meal in...Polish.
