'V FOR VENDETTA' by The Wachowski Brothers

I recently saw this great movie twice, by the Polish Wachowski brothers, from Chicago IL...All I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was happy at the justice portrayed in the ending...The movie contained an extreme amount of symbolism, much of it taken from Freemasonry...For instance, the character 'V' may be construed as some kind of devil...even his 'insignia' can be interpretated as a 'satanic' symbol...The Freemasons consider the devil to be equal to God, even though the Christian view of the devil is that he was a 'fallen angel', completely overcome with pride who tried to 'elevate himself above God'...Freemason doctrine views the devil as God's equal, who was in fact 'done wrong' by God out of God's jealousy...they reverse the equation...the character 'V' is a 'sympathetic monster' who was created by the evil works of 'scientists' and politicians who, at heart, hate mankind...But, in the end, we see that 'V' can feel real love, as he shows it for the young woman whose parents were also the victims of the British torture goons...So, we have many twists and turns, and manipulation of our emotions...but this makes for a great drama...and the events depicted are quite in line with reality,i.e. 9-11 and the budding 'Police State'...Have you seen the film?...What is your opinion?

I have seen it and thought it was a good film, had to watch it a few times to fully catch everything. Although it has been some time since I've seen it, got the DVD somewhere.... As I remember the ending was a little strange when it pans over the crowd, I probably missed something?

No, the ending was right in line with everything...If you remember the whole movie revolved around November 5th, commemorated in England as 'Guy Fawkes Day', Guy Falkes being a participant in a plot to blow up Parliament in 1605...'V' wor a Guy Fawkes mask to hidehis facial disfigurement during the whole movie...At the end, all the English citizens who marched on Parliament were wearin Guy Fawkes masks, but removed them to reveal their own faces as the Parliament was blown up.

Hmm, ok maybe I am being stupid but, the people that are in the crowd is everyone that had been killed throughout the film. See told you I was missing something...

i could be wrong, but i dont think it was anyone that had died previously, more the characters from certain scenes. will have to watch it again though to make sure.

I think Whyikit meant this: there were 80-100000 Brits killed by their own government in biological attacks in the movie...There were about this same number who marched on Parliament to see 'V''s show on November 5th...This would have been almost like the ghosts of the dead coming back to see the destruction of the symbol of their murderers.

It was the people through out the film I was talking about that died, Stephen Fry for instance is in the crowd at the end and I am sure he is killed during the film.. Will watch this weekend if I have time...
