Are the Polish the most proudest people you have encountered?

Pride and patriotism are fundamentally different from overt nationalism

Yes. Still, there are also positives to nationalism. After all, nationalism was the weapon of conquered nations againts colonialism. Well here in central and eastern europe anywway. If it wasn't for nationalism Europe today would look like this: europe after 1882

having lived in more countries than you have fingers

Ever the egotist, eh Bubby. Or are you just pretending to be drunk of PF again?

Seriously though, give us some examples of your assertion that Polish people's perception if further removed from reality than other nationalities. Surely a journeyman such as yourself would have kept a quaint little log of your travels?

I think what Bubba had in mind is that often we think to highly about ourselves.

Most Poles I've met have quite a low opinion of their country and will criticise it heavily, though will defend it to foreigners.

It seems that those people you mention here say those things out loud to convince themselves that it is the truth, while deep down they have some doubts.

Exactly. Poles recognise they need top boost their self esteem as it does seem to be genuinely low. Maybe sometimes they overshoot the mark somewhat. :)

How does one delete a thread they created? I dont want to get a bad rep needlessly, i was with a few polish friends today and feel **** that i put up this thread now, it really is nonsense.

I often write with the thought in my mind that my Polish friends are standing over my shoulder. Doing the same would help ya Era.

However, like Clinton, he left his mark and stained his, em, conscience.

It's not that insulting a thread. It is a leading question but gives no personal opinion (in the title). Chill dude!!

Yes it is, it is good you see the truth now. Now please beg us Poles for forgiveness.

Being proud is better than being vain, stubborn, hot-headed or any other negative adjective

Being stubborn is seen as a negative adjective. Holding ur ground is the positive equivalent.

Stubborness can be very irritating, depending on the situation

Like when a girl does not want to go to bed with you.

Don't worry PGTX, I think she wants to go to bed not for the perverted sense, but rather to actually sleep.
