Is there an iTunes Music Store for those living in Poland?

I noticed in the latest Apple 'Terms of Conditions' that one must actually be on America soil to download files from the US iTunes Music Store - is this a new requirement or have I simply missed it in the past? I have an American address on file and use an American credit card when making purchases, but apparently this is not enough anymore.

Man, I rely heavily on music, videos, and iPhone apps from this site - is there a Polish version available?

I'm downloading on iTunes in Poland using a British address/card and I have a friend who is able to download here using a Canadian address/card.

Unfortunately, for Apple some countries are better than others. It seems that Poland falls into the worse cattegory. There was an article about that on Gazeta Wyborcza's website a few days ago. You can buy iTunes tracks in Germany, France, UK etc, but you can't in Poland. It is against the EU regulations to differenciate between member states in such manner, but Apple justifies themselves saying that due to intelectual property laws in Poland it is impossible for them to sell iTunes tracks to Polish customers. Obviously, they are not trying hard enough. The only think you can do is to stock up on iTunes gift vouchers when you are in an Apple-category-one coutry.

It just occured to me that you could use a proxy server to access American website. One proxy that comes to my mind is (www-goes-here)hidemyass.com . On that website, type in iTunes shop's address in the box and you will appear to Apple's server as someone logging in from the US (i think that's an American proxy).

Is this possible with iTunes? The program automatically connects to the iTunes Music Store - is there a way to redirect? Thanks!

Probably not. I don't use iTunes, I thought you could buy iTunes tracks online by going to Apple's web site.

I thought it over and realised that sending your credit card details using a proxy like that would not be safe, because the connection from your computer to the proxy would not be secured.

According to the article I read in Wyborcza, you can buy iTunes gift vouchers on allegro.pl (which is a Polish equivalent of eBay; you can try eBay too).

Alternatively you can just download music for free. I would like to have legal copies of my music but if the record companies are too stupid to sell it to me....

Exactly, everyone heard of limewire?
And then again Harry, if they didn't cost so bloody much and stopped ripping people off with extortionate prices then maybe just maybe they would make more money in mass selling.
