er,no puzzler,i dont need to add anything for "dramatic effect" her accent was so strong as to make her english very hard to understand, even for someone with a basic knowladge of Polish. But I think you are replying to the "quote" rather than my origional post, as that seems to be used by someone to give the impresion this is commenplace. and i didnt say she couldnt speak english,as the person quoting me implied, just that it wasnt "native speaker" standard.

BTW, the RED Chinese can kiss my freedom loving backside, the day we in britain start backing down to them is a day I shall genuinly shed a tear. I say to the international comunity right now, boykot the olympics next year, and any athlete that goes out there is scum . at the very least a salute styled on Polands at moscow should be given to the red barstewerds.

lol, neither am I oddly enough donkey, shame, the weather seams so much nicer......
as for the rest of that odd rant ,WTF :)
although I will point out that you,ie "its true" say towards the end of your post that everyone has the right to be in any country they want, yet the rest of your post is saying the exact opposite. You really are a most unusuall little person, hiding away behind a guest post on an internet forum, grow some huevos .

BTW "its true" what is your country? Would just be interested to find out which of the colonies you hail from so we can all kiss your shiny little bottom better after we dragged your stone age butts into the modern age with our evil empire.

- Isthatu, I replied not to a quote but to what strongly appears to be your post #258.

By the way, I know you're a decent guy and not a Polonophobe at the least. I just wanted to argue with you a tinge.

;)
PS. I believe the gal was as you describe, and that the effect on the Brit folks might have been as you mention. Why did she get the job? They should let her go and take some one who speaks English up to standard.

Not specifically for Vancouver though

- I think the Vancouver Sun or the Province, sometime last year (or earlier?), informed about Mandarin being first, Punjabi second (and English third) in Vancouver.

2001 was a long time ago - 6 years. Experience shows things can change dramatically even in a shorter period.

Does English under 'Languages spoken' include people of non-British origin, e.g. bilingual ones?

1 Oct 2007 /  #248
Population 2001 (Census) 3,907,738 . If you add up all of the Languages spoken, it totals more than 4 million. I would therefore assume it includes multi-lingual people multiple times..

things can change dramatically even in a shorter period

Your lack of 'rightthink' towards our new Asian imperial overloads has been noted by the relevant authorities. Attitude correction measures will be taken at a more appropriate time.

would be interested to hear your views on Racism in General.

Randompal postulates that every suckling babe is worth its weight in gold and then some, no matter what the color or nationality. They turn into racist fools once they start going to school, reading the papers, and watching television. Once they start believing whatever the politicians say without questioning almost everything, their transformation is complete - dumb ignorant racist prikcs.

For western europeans, east europeans are just weird, there's a big gap of culture and history. We don't have that much to share

Its not that don't like Poland as its a country,i've never been to. I am a girl working in a place in Galway(Ireland) with other Irish & Eastern girls,we have 11 Polish girls working with us that constantly point, laugh at us and basically treat us like **** even though our job position is above theirs, why do they do this to us? A lot of the guys are ok, but the women are the most unappreciative, ungrateful people i have ever met. Why do they want to come to a country where they don't want to be in,I cannot understand why they are like this, there are other Eastern girls from Czech, Slovakia, Latvia...etc who are very nice people to say the least. I understand stand that the Irish men are treated differently because they have something to offer by these Polish girls(money...home...wealth...etc). Anyone else pissed off??

I'm am very sorry 4 coming across as being a racist( I've have many friends from all cultures and races) I just cannot understand why these people are different to Irish gals.

I am sorry Polskadoll,I know i should not judge all the ladies from Poland with the experiences that i have had,all I want to know is why some of the Polish ladies are doing this to us Irish gals? A friendly working atmosphere is all i want!

All i want to know is how to friendly intergrate these ladies fro your culture into ours without being laughed at?!

Is your place of work totally mixed, nationality-wise?
You might just have a bad crowd.
Is there one who seems to trigger the others off or lead by bad example.
Are the work conditions a bit dodgy, and it's their way of coping?

I know i should not judge all the ladies from Poland with the experiences that i have had

I'm glad you say this.
Think before you type.
It would be a better place if we all did this.

If, by this, you mean this:

intergrate these ladies fro your culture into ours without being laughed at

That is a difficult question.
Many migrant workers are there to work, not integrate.
The best you can do is be polite and fair, but without trying to be matey or anything.
If someone is rude to you, sometimes there's just no point escalating things by being rude back.
You'd do better to keep a good example, and if they don't want to follow, there is little you can do.

Some people will just be difficult people. They can come from anywhere and will appear in all walks of life.

Where is the answers now?

This might be the kind of abruptness that's causing a problem.

All i want to know is how to friendly intergrate these ladies fro your culture into ours without being laughed at?!

I ponder over these posts that claim the Polish are hostile towards people etc. I have met a lot of Polish people, particularly over the past couple of years and I can safely say there has only been person who I haven't got on with. We never fell out, we just don't get on - simple. My general attitude is that I just chat with anyone. I don't group people when I look at them. I do tend to wonder to myself what it might be like to leave the country I was born in, to live in a totally strange country, surrounded by strangers. I think the first people I would head for would be fellow countrymen. And if I was getting negative vibes from the natives of my new country, I dunno that I would be too keen on mingling.

Alright, stop being so pure and polite.
Learn to tell them in Polish that they're not clever, they are big and why don't they just **** off.
It's just a thought.
Not a very good one, mind.

I think the first people I would head for would be fellow countrymen

I don't think this is what I would do at all.
More English people? I have to put up with enough of them in England!

I have left the country dor Australia for 2 years and returned and this is what i have returned to, I have tried to put myself in their position and got humiliated because i tried to include them into our traditions...Irish people are uneducated and stupid from what they told me???

Irish people are uneducated and stupid from what they told me

The only thing you can do is go on living your life and just treat people how you would like to be treated....if they are going to assume all Irish people are uneducated and stupid, then that's their problem and their loss. It's a shame when people have a negative impression of an entire nation based on heresy or a few people they may have come across. Be yourself with these girls, and if they don't want to be friends with you, then screw em....it's their loss that they are so closed minded, IMHO. :)
