I am here to know how you can alert yourself from police car speed traps, speed cameras, and other road way hazards. To tell you the fact, I want to visit all areas around my town and I don't have much knowledge about the speed limit there. So please help me to solve this problem. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If you are on a fast road, oncoming traffic will flash their lights to let you know that there is a speed trap. But only if they have seen it and feel inclined to help.

I seem to remember warnings about photo radar sites posted well before actually sighting the little grey boxes taking the pictures...

There is a way that you can avoid them all, and that is by getting a GPS system for your car. Some of the systems in Poland give you a warning before you approach the speed camera.

That is of course if they are all itemised in the software.
TPSA have just released a system called "Navifon", which works as a GPS system through your mobile phone and is based on an innovative technology using Community Traffic that analyses the actual data about the average speeds of journeys in order to determine the routes bypassing typical traffic jams.

The idea behind this is that it is constantly updated by users, to include traffic jams and speed cameras, although I think TPSA may have some legal issues with the Police in warning drivers about speed cameras.

You can find more info at orange.pl or in their shops.

Police lurk in towns or built up areas, as soon as you see the police car or the fluorecent jacket hit the brakes bringing your speed down to 50 km and you will not go far wrong. Also look out for cars flashing you it always signifies a Police car ahead.

With regard to actual speed limits the signs are extremely confusing, 50 km in built up areas, 70km-90km (variable) on the A roads and 130km on motorways. I could be wrong!!

Well sometimes you have a 70km sign being totally invisible from the road as its being covered by another advertisment, 70km can become 90km when approaching a town, so its like speed up then hit the breaks. Signs are commonly so dirty you cant read the sign.

I wouldn't worry abouit the speed cameras everyone ive passed speeding still has the lense cap on, i think its more of a deterrant than an actuality they dont hace the technology for a system like that YET!!!!

Buy a police scanner. You can also spray your license plate with a special chemical that blurs the plate in pictures (this one may not work anymore though).

Some areas have automatic speed cameras. I was driving (speeding) with my cousin from czestochowa to krakow and we saw a small flash from the side of the road. I didn't know what it was until he told me that it was a speed camera. He received a ticket in the mail 3 weeks later.
