I read on one of the travel sites that the Polish look down on jeans. Supposedly, one restaurant didn't let a woman in because she had jeans on. I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me. But, I've never been to Poland before. Does anyone know if that's true or not?

not so extremely :D, but girls usually i see more interested on more feminine cloth :) or , maybe other fabrics. Jeans can be some peoples favourite, and is normal too :)

Never had a problem with that; as a tourist and being in the tourist city of Krakow recently, even the nice restaurant in our hotel and the better cafes in the city didn't have a problem with us stopping there dressed in jeans, or in shorts or casual cargo pants and sandals, etc.

But, at a classy joint or fine restauraunt, I'd definitely dress up, just like you and I would or should at home. At a church service I'd dress better than when walking around the city, ie: skirt or dress or khaki pants and polo, or dress pants and dress shirt, vs. jeans and t-shirt.

But no, I didn't notice any particular prejudice against jeans while there. No one made any comments at all.

At the moment we have very good weather so few people are actually wearing jeans. I've never noticed any problems with jeans otherwise.

I bought a pair of jeans in Poland. Black ones. Quite nice. There was a wide range available in this particular shop. I even wore them into a cathedral, with no complaints. But it can be difficult to differenciate between prayer and muttering under the breath about bloody foreigners in jeans!

I bought a pair out of "New Look " in Gdansk- much cheapness - washed them once and they turned out a kind of marbled effect, unfortunately so did the rest of my wash.

Bought another pair out of the Big Star shop, been in the bottom of my wardrobe for over a year now, never worn them but I am thinking of painting my shed soon...............

How bizarre! Mine looked black when I first got them, but very quickly developed a faint vertical stripey pattern. I now wear them to work. I do not work in an office.

Caution: Monty Python moment now follows...

On a shrubbery!

Well, it's actually a nursery. It has much more than just some shrubs, a path down the middle and a sort of two-level effect.

May I bring up the subject of corduroy?

Afraid so. I've not used them for wealth redistributiuon yet.

My job has also helped to teach me to recognise the larch from quite a long way away.

Polish girls wear jeans a lot.Pity they do not resemble their sisters in Ukraine. However I noticed this year an interesting turn to mini skirts and hot shorts.

The q is why girls in Lvov dress so nice in multi fashion styles while girls in Krakow who look exactly the same avoid the micro mini, high heel image?
