Does anyone one this forum own a Polish dog breed or ifsat least faimilar with them. I understand 5 breeds have been offcially recognised:
PON (lowland sheepdog), Tatra Sheepdog, Polish Hunting Hound, Polish Bloodhound and Polish Greyhound.

I've thought about a PON. I think they are really cute. Right now though, my home is home to my son's dog, and a few cats. So, maybe someday.

well....cats like warm places... but hey! cats like to pee here and there because they love you... you know, to show how much they care... ;)

Let's return to Polish dogs ;) I don't even know what a 'Polish dog' is. You know, race-wise. The Japanese have the Akita, the English have the bulldog etc etc.

What is a Polish breed? Sorry, P3, your breeds are remarkably similar. Is this the extent of the diversity?

Jindo...
After seeing that scene in the Korean film 'Sympathy for Mr Vengeance' where one of those Jindo dogs was barking at this guy who was binded to a lamppost with a plastic garbage bag over his head... I wanted one so bad...

Korean dogs FTW

The PON is the original shaggy dog -- small, cute, funny, its eyes permanently covered by hanging hair. A good hosue pet.
The Podhale Sheepdog is large, snowy white, stately and dignified but friendly and good with kids.

And the PON is great for people with allergies to dogs. All that hair, but no shedding! :-)

I have a friend with a dog FROM Poland. I don't know what breed she is, but she was adopted from Poland. Came complete with a Polish passport.

I am NOT kidding.

Came complete with a Polish passport.

I've mentioned the doggie passport before. I think it's more about the inoculations than citizenship. The fact that the dog needs a passport does amuse people though.
