Misplaced registered mail ticket, can I still claim mail from Poczta?

Tried a search for this without luck.

I know I have a letter that was sent to me on Tuesday via registered Polish mail. I had the claim ticket and somehow seem to have misplaced it. Does anyone know if I may go to the Poczta and simply ask for my letter without having the ticket? What would I say?

Cheers!

give it a go since you have nothing to loose.

Was that within Poland? How long does it take to for the register mail to reach the destination?

Normally you don't need this claim ticket (awizo) to receive your letter/parcel at the post office, the Polish ID card (dowód osbisty) is enough (it states your permanent residence), if you don't have dowód osobisty, then your passport should do (assuming the letter was addressed to your first name / surname).
