Media Markt in Wroclaw - returning merchandise

I bought a dodgy usb analog tv adapter at the media markt in Wroclaw the other week. How easy will it be to return/exchange it. I've only just arrived and my polish is very poor. I once exchanged an mp3 player from media markt in spain and i remember they had a separate location for the returns department. I bought the tv adapter from the media markt in the shopping center.

With will any luck will someone speak English and if not so (or i find somebody to help me) how easy will it be to return?

Cheers for any help guys

good luck, customer service in poland is terrible. They will want to send it off for repair rather than exchange it even if you have a receipt.

afc1903,

There should be a customer service point and at least one member off staff will speak English. They will want all the relevant documents and packaging that came with the item/s.

They might check the item at the counter and correct the problem, send it away to be repaired or exchange it.

Yes it's 'simply the CRAP procedure of doing things' in Poland.

If you've ever been to a country with good customer service you'll find that that shops immediately offer a replacement item when you return faulty goods.

Good luck afc1903 and welcome to Poland.

You've never had the arguments I've had in UK shops regarding returning faulty mobile phones then...even with insurance and receipts...

i bought a 400PLN TV PCMIA adapter card and signal box for my laptop, and it didnt work. took it back returned it. Even with limited language on both parties.... it was done. no problem.

I also had to return an cable splitter for a different one, and it was no problem

I completely agree with the repair option for an item you don't want. even if it isn't faulty. WTF?

I bought a bike computer for my MTN bike, and it was impossible to program, so i returned it, and they wanted to send it for repair, even though I DIDN'T WANT IT!! I was not satisfied with the product. SIMPLE! I have never stepped foot back in REAL after that. lost a customer over a 35pln item. idiots.

Last year I bought a phone in Saturn (apparently it also belongs to Media Markt). When I opened the box a part was missing. They would not exchange it as...... "a part was missing!". Total catch-22. An hour of arguing with 3 staff members ensued.

Went home sent an e-mail to one of their stores in Berlin asking if the mail could be passed onto someone who could help. Within a few hours was sent an apology from the manager in Warsaw and was asked to come in to exchange the product.
