God Damn 121234234 questions only to get in your online account?

They are all like that in my experience. It's sort of like having armies of uniformed security guards in every single shop...Poles are constantly scared. It goes beyond reasonable caution.

It must be a conspiracy or a failure on your part. Havent you heard how wonderful and modern Poland is? For god's sake Chopin is from here. ;)

My point was it is a symptom of greater cultural issues. These things will not change until Poles want them to. They seem ok with bureaucracy and ridiculous standards...ok enough not to do anything about them at least.

would you prefer to have a bank which has "password" as its login password instead? ;)

i would prefer to have a bank who is not mentally sick scares about being raped by some silly people! putting 234242 password is not the clever way to be secured.

Poles love to create fear where there is no danger and clutter when there should be clarity. There is probably an entire department who's job it is to write code for the "password number 2" section. This department likely consists of 9 "managers" and one secretary who answers the work phone when she feels like bothering and sends SMS and files her nails the rest of the time.

i heard that so many times for different situations that polish people are just lack of trust matter! i was going to buy sth from allegro, and the seller told me few stories that almost no polish person feel okay send money online before see the item (s)he buys... so they generally prefer at door payment after they see the product in real!

i understand for some people who is not well educated and worry about internet transfering etc... but how come such mentality can be seen at almost all polish people as a member of developed EU member country? i dont know!

dont get me wrong guys, i dont mean any bad about polish guys. Im married with a beautiful polish girl and all my friends are polish and i love them. but sth making me feel shocked!

well I've got an Intelligo account (which is an internet brand of PKO BP) and can't complain - the only thing it is solely internet account and it lacks some features I guess - one can pay into your account for free in PKO BP

I bank with BZ WBK only because I find their internet service straightforward and accurate and you can choose to have it in English. I've tried Pekao (similar experience to you) and Millennium (not as bad as Pekao but still awful). The BZ WBK lending process and staff are a nightmare though...

is it long process to get credit card?!

debit cards have to be posted or collected from the bank, takes a week or so i think. credit cards take a bit longer.

btw what do you need a credit card for - I don't think it is the cheapest way to get credit in Poland (or elsewhere)

Use mbank. they are a branch of an I rish bank and they have an excellent service such as 1zl transfers (for biz accts) free transfers for personal accts and no fee for biz accts.

I use it for my biz and have never had problems with them

the trouble is they don't have the English version of the site so you might consider some other internet account (I mean Inteligo)

from what I gather they do (just been there) - but wouldn't judge the quality (intelligibility) of the English version

mbank.pl/en/

I think they also have telephone support in English as well but dont quote me on that one. I have personally never had any trouble with these guys and they were one of the first banks to introduce the chip n' pin system to Poland.

The only problem is (as with most banks in Poland) is that the debit card is still using the Electron system so if u want to use it in the UK to pay for things it wont be accepted in many places. This electron system is archaic, I remember when I was 16 in the UK having my firs debit card and that was electron. We csan only hope for change though :-)

I can more or less recommend citibank. The website is in English, the automated telephone banking is in English and there are always operators on the telephone banking who speak English.

Visa electron to my knowledge is a choice made by the account holder when opening an account, you should be offered Visa or Mastercard.
