In my experience, South African dentists are very good. Poland can be cheaper but the quality of work is much more variable than in other countries.
Polish dentists - good and cheap?

Do it yourself and it will be even cheaper still and the quality of work even more variable.
Have you had your teeth done in Poland? If so, how many decades ago?
Some Polish dentists are good, as they would be in almost any country. South African dentists have been good in my experience, to others maybe not so. If you are stuck in Poland, then you will have to rely on a Polish dentist but then you chose to live abroad in such a country so you have to take those sort of risks. It seems strange to me, people chose Poland to live in, they can not find a doctor, can not speak a word of the language. Do people simply not think at all before they take the plunge? Getting back to Polish dentists, I did have a dentist when I was last in Częstochowa and the fillings were dreadful. So bad were they, that I had to wait in the end and come home with a hole in one of my teeth and I got it fixed on my return to England. A good South African dentist did in minutes what a Pole could not do on so many subsequent trials. I have not been back to a Polish dentist or Częstochowa for that matter for a few years now.
In my experience British dentists are the worst.
I had a British dentist once and I was not at all pleased with his work.
Here's a Youtube site about dentistry in PL before 1990. Enjoy.

Yes,but German dentists are the scariest...."is it safe?"
I don't pay any attention to the nationality of my dentist. I just screw my eyes up and hum to myself so I can't hear anything (or just scream).
LOLLOL
Was there not a dentist thread a while ago as well?

Aww sounds like someones afraid of the dentist
Doba, what on earth could have given you that idea????????? ;P
You have to communicate with the dentist thats all, tell him before hand "you hurt me and I'll hurt you" lol ya
I feel weak just being in this thread. I'll stick to doing my own dentistry.
lol own dentistry FTW.. next time tape it and put it on you tube, might be the start of something new
Here ya go guys.....its official!!!

References to Poland....
"The cheapest countries for treatment were Poland (€18) and Hungary (€8), the main destinations for dental tourists from Britain. Savings of thousands of pounds are promised by agencies that arrange treatment in these countries, even after paying the cost of flights and hotel bills."
Plus in Hungary labour costs are 32 times LESS than in UK!!!!!

There are multiple cheap airline connections between UK and PL, so if you book soon enough its no cost at all.
As for dentists in Poland, my Mom is one, she works in a 40k town, every dentist here have at most 10 year old equipment, using modern materials and so on.
I wouldnt worry about standard of treatment either, imo at least UE average, probably bit better.

poland has been in the top tier of dentistry for decades.
I agree with plk123, Poland has very good technology and a well respected dental industry.
wow, completely opposite experience here. I had my teeth royally screwed up and still can't drink anything cold (waiting until i go home for rnr to get that sorted out). I know others that have had their teeth messed up here as well- and they are Polish!.

I always make a point of having my teeth done when I'm in Warsaw, and I've been happy with the treatment and I don't get all the hard sell for other procedures that I don't really need, like I was getting from my dentist in London. Getting veneers later this year... I'll be looking like :D

I have been left wondering whose comment this might be a reference to.
I've had my hair cut in Poland, but I forgot to visit the dentist. Luckily my teeth seem to be in reasonable condition. Touch wood.

Ive been using the local dentist over the last four years of visiting Poland and I have had the few dirty black fillings you get in the Uk removed and replaced with white.Never had a cause for complaint.I visit a least twice a year to make sure that my NHS dentist has missed nothing and find him friendly skilled and profesional and good value. But he does insit I bring a box PG Tips tea for him
