How to deal with rude rich Polish people?

Recently my GF's brothers fiance's parents and her parents have been planning for the wedding. The Fiance's parents r the most rude people I have ever heard of in my entire life and I have known some very rude and demeaning people!!! My GF's mom bought them several gifts to be nice and all they had to say was "how much do these cost they look cheap?". The fiance's mom took a look at the dress her mother bought and said "this looks cheap wat was this 300 dollars?". My GFs parents r pretty poor. Her mother works full time and makes around 12 dollars an hour.

Allegedly these people have $..... although i doubt they have that much since the father still works a million hours a week despite being very old! They don't even have very many expensive nice things. NO WHERE NEAR WAT SOME PEOPLE IN MY FAMILY HAVE!

My GF was really sad about this and told me that polish people who have $ r very very stuckup. She said that the vast majority of rich polish people are much more arrogant than their rich american peers. Is this true?

I don't understand how these people consider themselves rich! From wat I have heard it wouldn't surprise me to find out my father makes more in a month than they do in a year yet my father would never insult some1 who gave him a gift! He would be greatful if some1 as poor as my GF's mom gave him something from a walmart or something! How would u react to this situation? I am thinking that when I marry my GF and her brothers wifes parents come to the dinner afterward I am going to have some of my family members put them in their place! Would this be a bad idea?

I wonder how they would react to my grandpa saying "now which parties candidate did u have dinner with last election?" =) or "how many houses did u buy when the price went down?"

They kept rubbing in my GF's mothers face that they had a nice big house they just bought! ABSOLUTELY SICKENING I MAY SEEM LIKE I AM ARROGANT ON THE NET BUT EVEN I KNOW BETTER THAN THAT! How the hell immature are these people what culture allows this?

You might be surprised sometimes.

I knew a guy in Yonkers, NY. He looked as if he couldn't afford to fill the tank of his 20 year old chevy pickup with more than $5 worth of gas.

Well, he owned the gas station, and a few more in the area. In fact he owned the area - about 20 city blocks of houses and businesses. I don't remember how many supermarkets and real estate around the US he owned.

He worked 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, as a plumber, driver, painter and all kinds of funny jobs like that.

That is a possibility and I work for what I have. Is that a shame? Or would I look much better to you if I relied on daddy's money like you do?

You come across like a little prick, even more immature than should be granted by your young age. Of course you don't care, but I just thought you might want to know.

These people aren't like this guy they act rich but i don't think they are!

I didn't say they were. I said you never know - only I did that in a lot more words :)

Yes.

Sounds to me as though they are pretending to be something they are not.

so you're potentially planning to have your family fight an adopted battle for you? Boy oh boy, what a knight in shining armour you are.

My GF was really sad about this and told me that polish people who have $ r very very stuckup. She said that the vast majority of rich polish people are much more arrogant than their rich american peers. Is this true?

Unfortunately this appears to be true in my casual observations. However it has not been not true in my personal experiences but the wealthy Polish people I've met are wealthy due to their hard work.

WAYYY Different my dad has been a dick to my GF's parents but h e wasn't half this rude! This is a level of rudeness I have never even seen!

ahh so it's excusable for your kin folk and even moreso because they weren't this rude? right, well good for you and your double standards then.

Allegedly these people have $..... although i doubt they have that much since the father still works a million hours a week despite being very old! They don't even have very many expensive nice things. NO WHERE NEAR WAT SOME PEOPLE IN MY FAMILY HAVE!

Firstly, congratulations on coming from monied family, you obviously worked hard to be born into a priveledged position and are right to take great pride in that. Secondly, the only difference between them and you is that although you both think the same way, they simply voice their pathetic opinions.

Interesting book on rich people that seem to agree with what z_darius was stating.

A brief out-take...

This is very true of all rich Polish people. Most Poles are poor but they will always have the time to stick a knife in your back! The Polish race have never been very industrious and hard working and instead have always relied on the support of others. In our Christian society, the Anglo Saxon races believe that it is our own hard work and endevours that will lead to success whereas, in Poland, the Roman Catholics are made to believe that it does not matter what you do or say in life and nothing is really important as God will provide for you. The Poles are Europe's most scrounging race, jealous of wealth and success, they are always the first to embrace it when it comes their way.

I've heard that snobs from Krakow and Warsaw are like that. The thing is, it's all relative. They reckon 6000PLN gross is really good. For me, that's alright but nothing to write home about. More money wouldn't change me, being rude is not sth I'm good at.

A key strategy is just to ignore them. If they don't understand or accept that people are poorer than them, send them packing. I HATE such people.

ROCKY>>>>> GET A JOB

I had a job last summer I'll prolly get another one! I interned with a Healthcare CEO last summer and while I was in high school! I actually hated it I was basically his glorified secretary biotch! Boredom isn't fun! Hey if it makes u feel better I had a job a while back! I even had one in high school. I didn't work more than 12 hrs a week but it was a legit job so screw off! Working is really easy I don't know y people act like it's something so honorable! Working SOME STUPID LOW LEVEL JOB is WAY easier than my 13 page accounting project I am doing! THAT IS FOR SURE!(IT'S ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT WHEN UR USB DRIVE FRIES AND U HAVE TO TYPE IT ALL OVER AGAIN ='(((()

I'd just laugh them off Rocky!! It takes time for people to get set up and accumulate some wealth. My parents were poor when I was younger but now they are quite well off.

Let people have their twisted perceptions. I'm treated as just a person of convenience for some of these business people, just a teacher. It'd hurt them to know that I get more than them, working for 2 schools but that's just stats. I actually like the idea of living cheaply and saving cash, rather than blowing it on a car or other thing that I don't need.
