davidpeake 14 | 451 8 Dec 2006 / #1Does anyone know of any cricket that is played in Wroclaw, i do realize it might not be the right season for it here, but any help would be great, also interested in Rugby if anyone knows that to.
Wroclaw 44 | 5,369 8 Dec 2006 / #2davidpeake,I doubt that you'll find a cricket team here. You might find a rugby team connected to the university, I'm not sure. We do have an American Football team, 'the Crew'
Frank 23 | 1,183 8 Dec 2006 / #3Well it seems that their is almost a cricket team in the area....2 Englishmen(!!), ask Sudheer as well, put an ad in local paper!!
Frank 23 | 1,183 8 Dec 2006 / #5Its Ok........David....can't you pretend..the balls the same shape, local Polish people won't be able to tell the difference, well at least initially !!!...lolI'd safely say, if you got a team together, you'd easily be in the local news....think of the publicity, good vibs!
OP davidpeake 14 | 451 8 Dec 2006 / #7hey Frank, just did a quick search on google and found this link cricket.pl/index.htmllooks like there is cricket played here, and yes thats true Wroclaw, we would need more than just one side.
Wroclaw 44 | 5,369 8 Dec 2006 / #8davidpeake,I don't mind playing, if you start a team. I just hate watching the game.

I would love to again start playing cricket or "krykiet" as we Poles call it.I grew up in australia, so naturally, i'm a gifted cricketer as well!!!!!What i really want to know is about rugby in pl.Where is it played, is it popular, what kind of crowd does it attract, is there a big rugby culture? Would love to hear from anyone who lpays rugby in pl.
OP davidpeake 14 | 451 11 Dec 2006 / #13Hey Wroclaw,I agree beer for training and concetration is a great idea

ukpolska 6 May 2007 / #20poland snows 3/4 of the year roughlywhen was the last time you have been to Poland???? Looking out the window at the moment its 19C and sunshine lol
Lodzy - | 16 6 May 2007 / #21in the summertime maybe but when winter comes people flee the street due to the cold waetherlooking outside your window again are there any polish children playing cricket?
ukpolska 6 May 2007 / #22God there is always one!!!! I'm not trying to make the minority the rule but you seem to be... we get "maybe maybe" 2 months of snow but even that seems to be less and less in today’s "climate". And, as to "looking outside your window again are there any polish children playing cricket" nope can’t see any! and wouldn’t expect to see any as it is not popular in Poland at all.
Lodzy - | 16 6 May 2007 / #23cricket is a sport best played in warmer climate regionsand Poland is in the eastern part of europei agree cricket is played in Polandbut do will poland play internationally is the question
ukpolska 6 May 2007 / #24Oh come on! I am not going to get into an argument over Cricket that just wouldn’t be Cricket old boy. Have a great day
