Does anyone know where I can buy this little pot of black gold in Warsaw........or do I have to take it over with me?

Not that I don't enjoy Polish food, I do............but I just happen to like marmite on my toast in the morning :)

Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
G

GDJ, you said you come from SA if I remember correctly?

Mmmmm, not even close.............Glasgow is where I spend most of my time. No idea where you got SA from.

I'll be in Warsaw tomorrow for a few days, so if I do find the pot of black gold anywhere I'll let you know. But judging from the comments here, no one else is really that bothered and would rather I didn't mention it again........is telefonitika out of the bathroom yet?

Actually you shouldn't be too quick to judge unless you've tried it. Most British people have the same reaction to Smalek the first time they see it! But once you've tried it you soon change your mind ;)

You can buy Marmite and Bovril at Kuchnie Åšwiata (Kitchens of the World). There are a number of branches all over Warsaw - the biggest in Arkadia Centrum).

However, except for the fact that it's very expensive (about 17.00 PLN = R46.00 for a small bottle), there is a difference in taste between the English products available in Europe, and the one's we get in SA. Don't ask me why or how it works - it just does. Hubby and I are bovril fans, and we always bring with when we go for a visit - it lasts very long in a coolish cupboard.

Good luck ;)

Sorry about that. Someone else was on here the other day, coming from SA and moving to Warsaw in a couple of months.

Anyway, now you know where you can find (British) Marmite.

Oouch! That over twice the price in the UK. A large jar is only about £2 here in Glasgow.

Another Marmite Lover! Whoopie! Hi, I am originally South African, been living here for almost 2 years and still cannot find "that pot of gold"... We go through Marmite like some would go through Ketchup.....so, if you do manage to come by some, could you please let me know where?
