Bad opinion about Polish people - rumour or the truth?
I had things stolen from me in Warsaw. My Mum had her wallet stolen in Gdansk.

My son has had his heart stolen by a Polish Girl. Have they no shame?
That wasn't in Liverpool was it... ;-)
No that was his hub caps. They met in Egypt, carried on at uni in Liverpool and have now moved to Vancouver where she is doing her masters and he is wasting his education writing love poems in very bad Polish and working in various temp jobs.

Nope, don't have anything negative to say about Polish People....I also hate it when people generalize the entire Polish Population.

I can't either just like I can't say anything negative about any people around the world. Nations are not good or bad but some people are.......but they don't represent the whole folk.

Germans in general do not like Slavs whether they are russians or czechs or polish. They do not like slavic mentality and want everything planned, organized etc. That is why they are not fond of Poles.
The Russians also dislike Poles because they think they sold themselves to America instead of cooperating and being allies with their slavic brothers like Belarus.
The Czechs have a neutral or negative opinion about polish because they sent troops to Prague in 1968.They also dislike church influence etc.
The Slovaks like Poles. The ukrainians mostly like Poles.(not everyone) as richer neighbours, tourists, export destination.
In meditteranean countries Poles are popular(hard working men and spectacular women).

In the United States, Polish people & Polish-Americans are respected by other nation-
alities...the main problem is that Polish people need better PR about Polish history &
culture, both historical & emerging...I recently found an interesting web-site about
the current Polish jazz/improvisational music scene, that had a lot of really interesting
groups featured on it...as a musician/composer myself, this was encouraging & is some-
thing that should be promoted as an example of modern Polish culture/arts...the only
group of people who seem to harbor resentment against the Poles in America are cer-
tain elements of the Jews, especially those in the media, as they completely dominate
American media at all levels...but, of course, these folks still bare a grudge because Poland didn't want to change it's name to 'Israel'...but, then again, the Governor of the
state of Pennsylvania, where I live, is Jewish (Ed Rendell), and he has supported many
Polish cultural/economic causes & enjoys support from the Polish-American community.

I remember I experienced wonderful reception as a Pole in the US. People in the streets or shops, upon getting to know I am Polish, were expressing their fondness of Poles in general. That was wonderful, never heard one bad word. I got the idea that Poles in the US are known as hard-working, ethical and friendly. Plus that Polish girls are always stunning and a great wife material :D
I think it is worse in Europe - met the most horrible predjudice in Sweden, the most horrible part was that it was expressed by a college professor in the middle of classes, in front of 20 other students (mostly Swedish). I always like to think, though, that predjudiced people are exceptions - and you can find idiots anywhere. I don't give a damn about them.
