Here is a sentence in Polish

"żyj tak, aby był to twój ostatni dzień".

I thought that it should be, "tak jakby" instead of "tak, aby"

Could anyone please tell me, if "tak, aby" can mean the same as "tak jakby"?

i'm pretty sure that there should be 'tak jakby' in there instead of 'tak aby'. let me explain what the difference is:

zyj tak, aby byl to twoj ostatni dzien - live [your life] so that it's your last day = no sense
zyj tak, jakby byl to twoj ostatni dzien - live [your life] as if it was your last day

they are two different things.

tak aby - so that
tak jakby - as if, kind of, like etc.
